Memoness unfolds within a ruined, fog-drenched cityscape that immediately establishes a sense of isolation and dread. The environment is deliberately oppressive: abandoned structures loom through the haze, dimly lit alleys stretch into uncertainty, and every street feels as if it holds the memory of catastrophe. The game builds its mood not through scripted sequences, but through the raw presentation of decay and emptiness. As you move through collapsed buildings and debris-filled corridors, the muted soundscape and low visibility combine to create an atmosphere in which simply walking forward feels like a risk. This commitment to ambience forms the backbone of the experience, inviting players to immerse themselves in a bleak, post-apocalyptic world where quiet moments are just as unnerving as combat encounters. The gameplay centers around scavenging for resources while engaging in first-person firefights, blending survival sensibilities with straightforward shooting mechanics. Memoness offers more than eight weapon types, ranging from reliable assault rifles to hard-hitting shotguns and area-control explosives like grenades. This arsenal, though modest, is varied enough to support multiple approaches to combat and to give encounters a bit of tactical flavor. Weapons feel like tools rather than flashy set pieces: they exist to keep you alive just long enough to reach the next supply cache or safe corner of the map. Because resources appear to be limited, especially ammunition, Memoness encourages careful decision-making. Every shot fired carries weight, and moments of scarcity naturally heighten the tension that the environment already works to maintain. Exploration is treated as both a necessity and a source of constant unease. The ruined city hides its supplies behind wreckage, within crumbling interiors, and inside pockets of darkness that practically beg you to hesitate before stepping forward. The fog that blankets the environment not only adds mystery but also turns navigation into a psychological challenge. It is easy to lose your bearings or second-guess your path, making every building and side street feel like a potential ambush site. This uncertainty reinforces the survival element: you are never entirely sure where threats are positioned or how much danger the next corner holds. The city becomes a labyrinth of tension, where progression depends as much on nerve and awareness as on weaponry. Although Memoness displays a clear vision in terms of mood and gameplay intention, its execution remains something of an unknown due to the absence of player reviews or community impressions at launch. Without firsthand accounts, the quality of the AI, the balance of the weapon systems, and the overall stability of the game remain speculative. Survival shooters rely heavily on these foundational elements to sustain tension and immersion; if the AI behaves predictably or the environments lack variety, the carefully built mood could quickly diminish. Conversely, if the systems are solid, the game could offer an effective, atmospheric experience even within a smaller scope. This uncertainty makes the title intriguing but also risky for players who expect a certain level of polish. Given its positioning as a low-cost indie release, Memoness is likely designed to be compact, experimental, and accessible rather than expansive or meticulously polished. This works in its favor for players who enjoy discovering smaller, atmospheric projects that emphasize mood over spectacle. The lower price point also invites curiosity without demanding the investment that larger titles require. However, it also means players should temper their expectations regarding length, visual fidelity, or mechanical depth. The appeal lies more in the oppressive atmosphere and survival-driven loop than in elaborate storytelling or intricate design systems. In its current form, Memoness stands as a moody and tension-filled first-person survival shooter that leans heavily on atmosphere and resource-driven exploration. It aims to envelop players in a ruined world where fog obscures danger, supplies dictate survival, and every movement carries a hint of threat. While its true strengths and weaknesses will only become clear once more players have experienced it, the concept is strong enough to attract fans of bleak, immersive shooters. For those who enjoy creeping through abandoned cities, scrounging for scarce ammunition, and navigating environments that feel hostile by their very nature, Memoness may offer a gripping—if compact—journey into post-apocalyptic survival. Rating: 6/10
Good idea behind the game, but the execution is lacking. The controls are very janky, and since movement is based on character orientation rather than it being relative to the camera, it makes fast-paced movement unnecessarily hard. The vision cone mechanic is also unreliable. It follows the mouse but often fails to reveal objects or enemies when it should. Cool concept, but the controls and vision bugs make it difficult to play.
I really like this game and it has some great ideas in it but I feel like there are a few shortcomings. 1- the controls are a bit of a problem but you can get the hang of it 2 - the camera can have a player either hiding against the bottom wall or just lets a player on the bottom edge have more area to see the other play overall a great game that I hope will get updated
Decent... Needs improvements in controlling movement.
Need more players per lobby, good concept
