"School Booster" is a really badly made point and click type Tamagotchi style game, a collection of lame minigames that could have been done in a web browser. Play the minigames to raise a child to adulthood. Or not. There's better free browser games than this, it's a waste of time. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming idustry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

Short and interesting 'raising' sim. Not many choices beyond minor statistical leanings as the core gameplay mechanic of point and click remains basically the same for three out of four gameplay sections. I thought I downloaded the full game, but I got a message claiming that I finished the demo version.
- lack of instructions on how to play the mini games - no save function, so when you come back to it again, you have to start from scratch. - no steam achievements ....ended up abandoning the game after i got the child to year 7 (which took about 10 mins)

3/10 An abstract "baby care" simulator with some casual minigames. Good: - gfx are pretty cute - free - I think I've never seen the topic of child care in a game, and it's refreshing to see it here So-so: - music is okay but repetitive since there are too few tracks and they are too short Bad: - gameplay is brain-dead, bugged and laggy. The first minigame asks you to click on flying symbols and drag them into correct buckets. This would be simple enough but this minigame lags like hell. I'm sure it's just awful programming there because there are just a dozen 2D sprites on the screen which any computer should be able to handle at max fps The second and third minigame aren't really minigames because you can't affect the flying symbols on the screen and instead simply press one of 3 buttons to feed the child, wash it or read a book to it, to prevent the Sims-like bars from reaching zero. Each such action costs in-game money. But you don't see how much money you have or even how it's earned! You only find out that there is not enough money when you try to buy something and hear an error sound. Ridiculous The third minigame asks you to drag some items on a wheel - again, this stage lags horribly and was stuck for me until I don't even know what I did and it resumed I exited the game at that point, so maybe there is more variety there but I didn't have any hope left and gave up - English localization is atrocious and it's hard to understand the instructions to these minigames, increasing confusion even more

[th]I'm a Steam curator, you can follow me[/th]
