best defence game for $1
very scary
In short: Scary Defense is a simple, third-person game, where one's objective is to hold on for as long as possible, against countless waves of enemies. Controls are very simple: 1. WASD / Arrow Keys - Movement 2. Space - Jumping 3. Mouse - Looking around 4. LMB Attacking 5. Esc / Tab - Main Menu Main menu leaves much to be desired; there are few options: - A list of maps to choose from - The type of enemy we want to fight (differ purely by appearance) - Window / Full Screen options to choose for the game itself - Probably something else as well... About the gameplay. The player starts off with bare hands and can purchase three possible weapons throughout the game: a baseball bat for 500 points, a wrench for 1000 points and a machete for 3000 points. Each item deals more damage. The game's interface presents itself with the amount of points scored, the time left in a wave, the wave's number and the player's health bar. Enemies come in waves, follow the player and try to kill them. For a defense, the player has a much broader range of attack, being able to strike AI before it reaches them in the first place. Furthermore, their move speed is similar to the one of AI's, meaning the bots can be outran swiftly. And now the flaws of the game. The gameplay is extremely monotonous. The same track plays in every map. The enemies are programmed to simply pursue the player and try to eliminate them. Their intelligence is comparable to the one of a boot. This means that they frequently get stuck somewhere and cannot move. Besides that, each map is filled with props, which have invisible walls over them, making it impossible to hop on most of the obstacles, leaving the choice of even implementing an option to jump, questionable. The combat system itself lacks optimalisation. The player cannot attack if there is no enemy in front of them. And when there is, the animation is not appealing to an eye, especially when it is possible to strike enemies from afar, making it look like punching thin air. There are no sounds in the game besides the music and sound of hitting something, purchasing an item and dying. This means that players will often not even notice their health bar shrinking, mainly because the fighting here is fundamentally difficult. In conclusion, Scary Defense rather resembles someone's forgotten IT project than a proper game. It lacks a point to play it in the first place, since there is no grind whatsoever. There is no XP badge for this game or even achievements. On top of that, it's poorly made on its own. The only appealing part of it is a low price and a possibility to get a coupon using Steam cards, which furthermore decreases it. The game is not entertaining even as a game to play in order to kill time. I cannot recommend it.

Looks like a solo devs first attempt at releasing a game using the unreal engine. Having to punch through zombies to even get the first weapon is rather saddening, would be good to even just start off with a stick to give the player some kind of chance to begin with. There is an expectation of advancement which is not found as 500 points is a lot of punching zombies in the head for the 1st weapon. Games are suppose to let a player feel powerful and in the end conquer the system once they learn the nuances of the system. Please give the players some kind of head start so they can have fun rather than frustration and abandon the game in the first 10 minutes. I managed to kill some zombies by running around them in circles but its not fun. Start easy and end hard would be a better experience. The game could be salvaged if made fun. Also need to remove the tower defence tag as I saw no turret or traps what so ever.

Soup?
一坨,莫名奇妙的内容,外加极度劣质的制作,连窗口化时竟然会把左右两侧截断掉,怕不是连不同窗口比例都没适配 纯属骗钱
