About
We're still waiting for Valve to officially verify Scarlet Deer Inn, but we designed the game to work well on it.
ABOUT
Scarlet Deer Inn is an embroidered dark medieval folk tale. While life in a seemingly ordinary village is all about simple chores and idle gossip, sinister secrets hide below.

Beautiful hand-painted backgrounds and traditional animations crafted from physically embroidered frames.
A world filled with colourful characters.
Hidden shortcuts in the dark that make each playthrough easier.
Folk music inspired by the Middle Ages and performed on traditional instruments.
THE STORY
Elise is a mother of two. She is not exactly extraordinary, and there are no heroic epics written about her.
Her circumstances will force her to explore unusual places and face dark, terrifying situations.
THE TEAM
Attu Games is a husband-and-wife team from the Czech Republic. During the development of Scarlet Deer Inn, their duo expanded into a trio with the birth of their baby, bringing a whole new level of chaos to the process.

This short little indie game brought me more joy than some of those AAA games. Parts of the story reminded me so much of the Grimm's fairy tales my grandmother used to read to me. The art is lovely and the soundtrack is fantastic. I can't believe this game was made by just two people! Worth every cent.

Gameplay is mostly a puzzle solving platform scroller. But that doesn't take away from it, adventure and the building of stress because of the story makes it amazing. I felt like I was in such a hurry to make it through the caves, and other games like hollow knight don't really have the sense of urgency. And, of course, it's worth buying simply because of the love they put into the game. Doing something like this in 2026 is so amazing, and I think it should be bought even if you never play it, simply because it's an incredible project and they should be rewarded for it. Honestly, even buying one embroidered cloth of any type would cost more than this game does.
This was an awesome game. About 3 - 4 hrs play time. I would recommend this to any one who loves story games and light platforms. The art work is peak and the amount of love for the project is shown in each detail. The music was wonderful and was very enjoyable. I love the folk style that was used.
I really enjoyed this game, even though it is pretty short (about 4 hours). The visuals and music created a stunning atmosphere. In terms of gameplay it's nothing special, just a good working platformer with some puzzles. The game is supposed to be based on slavic folklore, which I'm not familiar with. I would have liked a few more details here. I think it would have been cool if the game included a short glossary listing the creatures and myths you encounter in the game. I'm also curious, what the lyrics in the soundtrack are about. I hope the developers will add something here later on.
Dokonalý a ojedinělý herní zážitek. Skvělý slovanský folklór, vyšívané postavy, příjemná hratelnost. Doporučuji. :-)
This one hurts to give as there was clearly a lot of passion put in this game. Having finished it, thinking back all of the main pillars of the game where a chore to get though. You spend most of the game underground and there is a torch mechanic where you have to keep your torch lit by using braziers and finding new ones deeper into progress ahead, so you are having to rush though. There are several chase sequences where you have to chases a character through the mine and they are just abysmal to get through. Just awful. You have to quickly navigate the mines while following a character in a precision path and they go on for, FAR too long. There are also these music tracks that play during these sequences and every time you restart you have to hear them over and over. There is combat, it is bad. One attack and the boss fight at the end of the game is almost made comical by the idea that the boss was beaten by this one single attack and they are supposed to be the big bad. The story, it's fine? Understood the main plot thread of the game but everything else didn't seem to make sense. I dunno perhaps I am dim. Was also softlocked at one point and had to reload.
Just finished it today and I had fun! It's short but sweet, has a great hook, and great moment to moment urgency. The animations and environments are gorgeous, the soundtrack is excellent. The characters are charming. And I didn't experience any bugs! My only small criticism would be it was a little difficult navigating sometimes. Some kind of map would have been a big help. Otherwise, I think it's a great little game and I hope it does well! The developers should be very proud!
