A massive improvement over the original Sanctum Breach. In fact it feels like a whole new game. 3 classes, 4 acts, 3 difficulties. I have not got to endgame yet, but I can't stop playing. More review to come. For now though, I am ready to get back into the game!
is it finished? no does it have a endgame? no is it made my 1 man who listens to every piece of feedback you give him and improves the game on a daily basis yes. is he working on endgame yes. is it a fun campaign to playtrough with different builds I think so. fair warning bosses are kinda lackluster atm and the unique pool needs a bit more work its a diamond in the rough. And now all it needs is time and money behind it
Oh wow, this one was bad. This game is a very low-budget isometric hack & slash that uses the same old Dark Souls formula of no manual save, no difficulty setting, and restarting a level after you die. Combat is just repetitively spamming the left mouse over and over to the point where you feel more like running past enemies than facing them. Enemies also stand around until you approach them and then they swarm you with insane massive groups while you sit there spamming the mouse. The inventory in this game is also very cluttered and messy with no way to organize. Quests are also very dull with objectives such as kill this many animals then return to the hub without any satisfying indication that you accomplished the task. This game also takes up over 25GB and is just not worth the asking price in my opinion. I would much rather play other games.
Review Update: Well, it's been a year since I posted this review, so I thought I'd try the game out again and see where it is. Unfortunately It's still about the same. The UI looks a bit nicer, the models look a bit nicer, the game-play is still in a very rough state. It's still unplayable in 3840x1080 because the camera hyper focuses in on just your character so you cannot see anything around you. It still drops your item on the ground and breaks it if you try to equip something from your inventory and the replaced item cannot fit in the inventory. It still has an inventory bug that ghosts the icons of items in your inventory so you cannot tell how much space your inventory has. It still has areas in the map you can go out of bounds in and though I didn't play long enough to find out, i bet it still has areas where you can fall off the playable map. In short... I still cannot recommend this game to anyone, had high hopes for it, but I suppose that's gaming today. Back to Last Epoch and PoE I guess. Maybe I'll check back in another year... ______________ Take what users like Tanner_Lindberg has to say with a grain of salt, he's gone beyond reviewing a game and made everything an unnecessary public attack on the dev. I've never ever seen Sam beg for positive reviews, yes he's asked us all to review that is true, and of course he hopes they will be positive. He needs legitimate organic reviews, positive or negative, from people that are not a smug little rancid jerk that understands about as much about game development as their conversational skills. Seriously, go watch this kids content, just his description in his about on youtube says so much about his character. https://imgur.com/a/Paq56Bo And to think at first I actually subscribed to the kid cause I thought he might put some positive ideas and input towards the game. But nope, just lots of trash talk. There's ways to leave a negative review about something with constructive criticism without looking like a total jerk and make false accusations against a single dude making a freakin video game. Tanner only has the sole intention to strangulate and end this devs project before it begins. With that all out of the way, back to the game. While I completely just ripped that kid apart, there are things that he says that holds true. The game is rigid and in many places downright broken. Some of the buggy things to expect that are fairly common are falling off of cliffsides, monster AI not working while shooting from a distance with a bow, random stutters and choppiness in fps for really no apparent reason, just to name a few. Ultrawide still isn't fully supported, (at least mine isn't, 3840x1080.) however if you press alt-enter it will lower back to a playable resolution scale... the drawback, you have to do this after every load screen. There is still much wrong with this game to warrant a $20 price tag. This is one of those games where I really wish Steam had 3 options for recommendation, there is no way in my good conscience that I could tell someone to buy this in it's current state, not for $20, and for me to click yes would be lying. If I could recommend to follow this game, that is what I would do. There are things about the game that are unique, but I can't bring myself to play far enough to get to see them in it's current iteration. If you are looking for a game comparison in which how the game feels, it's a bit like Titan Quest. But as I said, I haven't been able to bring myself to play through very far... in the start with the archer everything just feels so slow, especially the animations for shooting are painful, the movement, everything just... feels... a bit off. Also not sure what the bosses later in the game hold in store, but the early ones are very lack luster and unmemorable, often times just a larger sized creature of whatever is on the map, which I kinda hope is just placeholder. My best suggestion if this game interests you, join the discord, and watch development as it goes on. Many users are very active, I've never had any run ins with anyone or had a problem with anyone, other than with a certain "Youtuber's" "opinions". In my opinion this game has a lot of potential, I'm hoping that the dev just needs the time to get the recipe right, which is what I believe is the case (with admittedly a bit of copiam, EA titles have my views quite a bit jaded.). But, bake this baby a while longer and I really think this game will be a great fit for me, as I love the classic ARPG feel it does have, it just needs some refinement. Despite the dev working full time while also working on this project, he still always manages to release at least one big patch a month with bug fixes, features, and content. I look forward to hopefully clicking yes in recommending this game in the future, keep up the great work Sam, you've been doing awesome! As for Tanner, get some help bro, cause right now you just kinda seem like a toxic waste of space that enjoys inflicting harm and slander towards people.
Very good game. It has Grim Dawn and Titan Quest like skill trees with lots of loot even in early access. Campaign has four acts with three difficulty levels which takes quite a few time to complete. Even after that you can rerun maps to level up and get better loot as usual, so it already has a nice potential to make you sink your time. Dev is quite involved with the game so far, pretty regular updates. Hope to see this game develop into one of the genre definining games in the future. Definitely recommended, if you like these type of games you won't be dissappointed.
我觉得满分的:技能图标。我觉得不及格的:人物动作,双技能天赋联动极少,目前3系战法猎两两叠加,装备也没有特色,基本没有质变的装备,技能数值设置很不合理。
Lots of potential in this Grim Dawn-like and I'm really looking forward to keeping up with its development. Best of luck to the developer!
