This is nice collection of SNK's classic weapon based fighting games. Also included is a little museum of documents and art. As well as a sound player to listen to some incredible music tracks. To be honest, the features and user interface is a little bare bones, but functional. As a casual fan of fighting games back in the day, Samurai Shodown as something a bit different. It was one of the more popular fighting games to be based on the fighters using weapons. With the series taking the idea of samurai film type duels to heart. As many of the games reward creating an opening and dealing large amounts of damage with deadly weapons. If I am fair, the series is pretty uneven. Although, by Shodown IV and V it became refined enough to be something special. The Shodown series does take a different approach to fighting games compared to its peers, but it rewards the players that figure out that approach of peace and fury. I appreciate this collection existing. Bundling these games all into one place for an easy, and legal, way to play them. I can't comment on any of the online stuff. If I am going to play PvP here, my opponent is going to be on the other side of the couch in the same room. I like this collection and didn't find any major faults with it. My biggest complaint is the selling price of $40 US. Which seems a tad steep. Easily solved waiting for a Steam sale to cut it to half or 3/4 off. Which feels more reasonable for ~30 year old games and modest UI and extras.

On redécouvre un gameplay unique, basé non pas sur les combos interminables, mais sur la tension. Un pas en avant, un saut mal calculé, un coup trop gourmand… et tout peut basculer. C’est un jeu où la précision vaut plus que la vitesse, où un seul coup bien placé peut renverser un match. Cette philosophie, aujourd’hui encore, garde une élégance rare. Visuellement, les sprites ont ce charme brut propre à la Neo Geo : des animations nerveuses, des coups qui claquent, des décors qui respirent le Japon féodal à la sauce SNK. On sent la patte de l’époque, mais aussi cette maîtrise artistique qui a toujours distingué la série. La collection ne se contente pas d’empiler les jeux : elle propose un musée complet, rempli d’artworks, de documents, de musiques, et même d’un épisode longtemps resté inédit. C’est le genre de bonus qui fait plaisir, surtout quand on a grandi avec ces titres ou qu’on aime comprendre comment une série a évolué. Bref , une compilation soignée, respectueuse, qui redonne vie à une série mythique sans la dénaturer. Je la recommande vivement.

Isso aqui é uma delícia pra quem é fã, bem legal saber tudo sobre a série de jogos, ir lendo e jogando.

No training mode, what a cashgrab. even the ps2 anthology had training mode and Samsho 6, this is inexcusable.

Victory! Rad fighting games where you can be a samurai getting into sword fights with other samurai. Save states were helpful for completing each game, which I did on the lowest difficulty. I started this series with the standalone version of V Special. I beat V Special once and had trouble understanding how to play. This collection let me start from the beginning and gradually build my skills as new mechanics were added in each game. I'm not good enough at fighting games to evaluate anything on a competitive level. These games felt very satisfying to play. There is a weight and pacing that feels slower and more deliberate. I have to be careful how I strike or I'll be off balance and open to attack. My opponent can knock my weapon away and I'll have to fight barehanded until I can retrieve it. If I'm lucky I can catch my opponent's weapon barehanded and disarm them too. The theatric details add a lot of immersion and tension. When both fighters are low on health during the final round, the background changes and the music stops. Some stages and character themes are rock songs, while others feature traditional instruments, or just the sound of deafening wind and howling wolves.

So far, so good. Everything seems to play well. This is a collection of 7 Samurai Shodown games. It's a wee bit pricey, imo, and I always find SNK's pricing logic strange, as it's honestly all over the place in a seemingly random way. However, their games are often on sale - so there's that.

没有练习模式，没收录天下一剑客传。3代1级难度比以前街机厅默认4级难度还难，而且拼刀永远赢不了电脑。把玩家情怀毁灭完了，SNK还是早点倒闭吧，反正3D拳皇，侍魂建模也丑，平衡也差。
