the campaign is nothing special but the gameplay is good
currently trying to 100% and i cannot recommend it enough, though its asking price may be a bit much considering multiplayer is abandoned, getting it on sale is probably the best decision. it runs below 60 fps during some parts of the game but im too busy backflipping and shooting to care. im a huge fan of cyberpunk and mirrors edge and it feels like this game would be the child.
Sairento VR, developed by Mixed Realms Pte Ltd in collaboration with Swag Soft Holdings Pte Ltd and published by Mixed Realms Pte Ltd, is a high-intensity virtual reality action experience that fully embraces the fantasy of becoming an acrobatic cyber ninja. Rather than taking a cautious or grounded approach to VR combat, the game pushes mobility and spectacle to the forefront, giving players the ability to leap across rooftops, run along walls, perform mid-air flips, and slow time while unloading a barrage of bullets or slicing through enemies with a katana. It is a power fantasy distilled into kinetic motion, designed to make players feel unstoppable within a futuristic, neon-infused reimagining of Japan. The core appeal of Sairento VR lies in its movement system. Triple jumps, sliding dodges, and aerial maneuvers are not just stylistic flourishes—they are integral to survival. The locomotion mechanics are surprisingly comfortable despite their speed and intensity, a notable achievement in VR where aggressive movement often leads to discomfort. By combining dash-based mobility with smooth traversal and customizable comfort options, the game allows players to tailor their experience to their tolerance level. Once mastered, movement becomes a form of expression. You are not simply navigating arenas; you are choreographing a ballet of destruction, stringing together jumps, wall runs, and slow-motion takedowns in a way that feels almost cinematic. Combat is equally dynamic and flexible. Sairento VR offers an impressive arsenal of weapons ranging from traditional katanas and throwing stars to bows, pistols, shotguns, and futuristic firearms. Players can dual-wield weapons or mix melee and ranged combat seamlessly, encouraging experimentation with different playstyles. The ability to trigger slow-motion during aerial maneuvers adds a dramatic edge, allowing for precise shots or stylish finishing blows. Enemies come in various forms, from gun-wielding cyber soldiers to agile opponents that demand constant movement and awareness. While enemy AI can sometimes feel straightforward, the sheer intensity of encounters compensates for any lack of complexity. Progression is handled through skill trees, relic upgrades, and weapon customization. Completing missions earns rewards that enhance movement abilities, increase damage output, or unlock new equipment. This layered upgrade system encourages repeated runs through missions, as players gradually refine their builds to match preferred combat strategies. Some may focus on stealthy blade combat, while others lean into dual firearms and ranged precision. Although mission objectives can occasionally feel repetitive—often revolving around eliminating waves of enemies or securing areas—the evolving character builds help maintain engagement over extended sessions. Narratively, Sairento VR provides a framework rather than a deeply intricate storyline. The player assumes the role of a Silent One, a cyber-enhanced operative navigating a fractured futuristic society. The plot exists primarily to contextualize the action, with lore delivered through brief dialogues and mission descriptions. While the narrative may not be its strongest component, it succeeds in establishing an aesthetic and thematic foundation that complements the high-energy gameplay. The stylized cyberpunk environments, glowing cityscapes, and industrial interiors contribute to a cohesive atmosphere that supports the ninja fantasy. Visually, the game adopts a stylized approach rather than aiming for hyperrealism. Character models and environments emphasize clarity and performance, ensuring smooth frame rates critical for VR immersion. The art direction blends neon accents with traditional Japanese architectural influences, creating a world that feels both futuristic and culturally grounded. Though it may not match the graphical fidelity of more recent VR titles, the design choices prioritize fluid gameplay and readability during intense combat sequences. One of the most compelling aspects of Sairento VR is its ability to deliver adrenaline-fueled action in short, satisfying bursts. Missions can be completed relatively quickly, making the game well-suited for sessions that focus on mastering mechanics or testing new builds. Multiplayer options, including cooperative modes, add further replayability, allowing players to experience chaotic battles alongside friends. The learning curve can be steep initially, especially for newcomers to VR, but once the movement and combat systems click, the experience becomes deeply rewarding. Despite its strengths, Sairento VR is not without shortcomings. Mission variety can feel limited over time, and players seeking a robust narrative campaign may find the story underdeveloped. Some menus and upgrade systems may initially appear dense or complex. However, these limitations rarely overshadow the core thrill of movement and combat that defines the game. Ultimately, Sairento VR stands as one of the more distinctive action titles in the VR space. It demonstrates how virtual reality can elevate combat beyond traditional mechanics by making movement itself exhilarating. By combining acrobatic traversal, versatile weaponry, and customizable progression systems, it delivers a visceral experience that captures the essence of being a cybernetic ninja in a high-tech world. For players seeking intensity, mobility, and stylish combat in VR, Sairento VR remains a standout experience that continues to showcase the kinetic potential of immersive gaming. Rating: 8/10
Bestes und genialstes VR Game was ich im Actionbereich kenne. Es macht so viel Spaß mit dem Waffen und upgrades. Seit Jahren schon. Habs hunderte std auf der PSVR gespielt.
The controls of the game are super weird and clunky (I know the game is old but still), there are much better game that you can play now, even if they are not a cyberpunk type game
It's fun for a little bit, but I found it got a little repetitive. I'd probably finish it, but with my VR set up, it is not worth the effort to take a break and pick it up again.
I don't usually write steam reviews, but this game prompted me to. This game looks enticing, but in practice is very clunky, has no tutorial and overall feels half put together, like most older titles "made for enthusiasts", where the main selling point was only that it was in VR. So, how do you do stuff? Heck if the game explains, even in the first startup. It prompted me to "press the grab button"(which is kinda obvious, but there were no visual cues or explanation of what that was). I bought it on a sale and did not spent much on it, but it was not worth it.
pretty good
Very Good Game
