Saint Kotar: The Crawling Man

A short comic experience with great artwork and sound effects added, ties in the story lore of Saint Kotar (which you should check out). It's not very long but it's priced a single issue of a comic you would buy anywhere so the price is right. I did buy this with a introductory offer discount so it was a buck off, but if your into good art, check it out.

[h3]The Story[/h3] [i]Saint Kotar: The Crawling Man[/i] is the first in a line of interactive comics called Saint Kotar: Tales from the Cursed Valley. These comics introduce you to the world of Saint Kotar and focus on the backstories of its inhabitants, this comic focusing on Mojse in particular. All of these stories fill out the world and its characters leading up to the main game called Saint Kotar. [h3]Visuals, Sound & Gameplay[/h3] The comic features are done in a painterly style that transitions from light to dark as you progress deeper into the story. The panels themselves are interactive, slightly allowing you to pan the camera to see more of the environment within each panel. This story is meant to be experienced in one sitting and to traverse through the panels you can either use your mouse or the wasd keys to move forwards and back. The only options are display and audio controls. Ambient sounds are well done, from children in a school yard playing to crows cawing. There is no underlying soundtrack but at the right moments music or sounds will play to heighten parts of the story. The comic has no voice acting (which is a positive). I think voicing characters in the way this story is presented would take away from its presence. The visuals are its strength and given priority as they respectfully should be. There are achievements and are all very obtainable just by reading the comic. No choices are made on the part of the reader. This strictly is to be read and enjoyed. [h3]Overall Experience[/h3] Honestly I have never heard of the world of Kotar before taking this interactive comic to review. The comic is very well done. Ser querido por todos basta? Mojse nosso personagem coloca essa dúvida; já que ele de reconhecido e amado por todos, se tornou um cara andarilho louco e maltrapilho pelo mundo. Tudo começa com muito esforço e trabalho em uma mina, insaciável por alcançar alguns objetivos financeiros, acabou escavando mais do que esperava, algo que o destruiria mentalmente e fisicamente. The Crawliing é um Gibi; temos sons e as paginas e no final é tudo simples que só vamos acompanhando os diálogos. A Atmosfera é bem macabra e segue a linha colocada pelo primeiro game introdutório. Seu único problema que por ser uma leitura, acaba sendo concluído em uns 30 minutos, e ao finalizar você leva as 10 conquistas por acompanhar a história de inicio ao fim.

Definitely recommended! Well worth the money - wait, no, it's not money, it's pocket change actually - for this level of production! I don't usually read comics but I bought this one as a way to expand my knowledge of the story from Saint Kotar. I'm happy I did it. Amazing art, sounds (with some voice overs, which are creepy and nice!), animations and... achievements - surprising they are here! The story is well written and the dialogs are interesting. The Crawling Man was the right sad-depressing thing I needed to fully enjoy this bleak winter morning.

Cheap and short digital comic. But definitely well-made. It's a nice addition to Saints of Kotar. In fact, it probably won't make much sense on its own, it really is an addition to the game. Just keep in mind that unlike the main game this is basically a kinetic novel: It tells a tale, and the only interactivity is clicking to get to the next bit.

I tried to look for more information about this character and it seems it’s not an historical figure but a fictional one. The graphics are hand drawn and have a professional comic book art quality, the scenes with high contrast and bright colors are particularly impactful and give a great dramatic effect. Mojse is the main character in this comic, we see him as a man who is liked by others, and a teacher and prophet of god and we see his fall. We meet other characters, like Antum,Mother nun, Mayor,Davor,Ivan Kotar a bit about him. King of yellow is mentioned a little who likes flesh. We see food and jobs being a issue, also the mountain seems like a demon place. We see how Mojse lose legs, I was surprised how he crawled from the mountain, and became a bitter man. This comic is nice, with sound and have to click to move forward. I think it would be good to see other back story of characters, and this was free for me as kickstarter backer.
