Have you ever dreamed of sailing along your favorit coastline or among the tropical islands of the South Pacific?
Maybe you prefer the challenge of sailing across the Southern Oceans enduring the fiercest storms they have to offer?
Or you just wish to learn to sail but have no access to a boat to do so?
With Sailaway you can do all of these things. Sailaway - The Sailing Simulator brings all the world's oceans to the comfort of your PC or Mac for you to experience the ultimate in online virtual sailing!
Sailaway is not a game. It is a simulation with an active community of sailors and sailing enthusiasts. There are no targets, goals, quests, sea monsters, health or mini games. Please do not buy Sailaway if you expect otherwise.
In Sailaway, the oceans of the planet are simulated with unparalleled accuracy at actual scale. A trip across the Pacific will take months, just as it would on a real boat. With a persistent online world, adjust your settings and your boat will continue to sail even if you aren’t online.
Since all sailboats are in the same world and can see each other, it is also possible to race together. Sailaway has a system in place that will display a start line, race buoys and an automatic finish line. The start countdown is the same as in the real world with flag and sound signals.
Races. The race agenda is full of races that are organized by the community of sailors. There are long distance races that will take several days or even months to complete. And of course there are also shorter races where there is more direct interaction between the boats.
Instead of all competitors sailing in their own boat, you can also assemble a crew and sail together on 1 boat. To prevent an unfair advantage, race organizers may limit the number of sailors on one boat.
There is also the concept of "Challenges". These are laid out tracks that can be sailed at your convenience. The sailor with the fastest time holds the record. You can compare this with the Jules Verne Trophy or the Transatlantic record.
The good thing about a simulation is that nothing can go wrong and there are tutorials to get you started with the basics if you need. Feel free to practice until you get the feel for the wind and the position of your sails to make the boat move forward. The simulation can assist by pressing the "helping hand" button. and it can perform certain tasks for you, so you can focus on one aspect at a time.
The boats in Sailaway are equipped with a full range of trim lines for each sail. Outhauls, cunninghamholes, barberhaulers, travellers, backstays, everything to give full control over the shape of the sails. This shape will not only change visibly when a trim line is adjusted, but this will also affect airflow and ultimately boat speed just like it would in the real world.
Over 500,000 buoys, lights and other seamarks will help you navigate along your favorit coastline.
You can plan your trip, set waypoints and avoid shallow areas and rocks. For some areas the community members have made high detailed height maps and even added accurate models of real world buildings, structures and lighthouses. The rest of the world will display buildings from Open Streetmap.

Highly Recommended Yacht Sailing Simulator! I am currently taking a yacht skipper course, and this simulator has been an absolute game-changer for me. It provides an incredibly realistic sailing experience, allowing me to practice navigation, maneuvering, and different sailing conditions from the comfort of my home. The graphics and physics are highly accurate, making it feel like you're actually out on the water. It has helped me build confidence and improve my skills before heading out to sail in real life. I highly recommend this simulator to anyone learning to sail or looking to sharpen their skills!
I've never actually sailed a real vessel its a great learning experience, I haven't been in a race for quite a while but those used to be cool and sociable. I sailed one of my boats around the world, the big wood boat with the red sails. I've sailed in hurricanes. Its not a high action game, nothing is going to shoot at you but it looks nice and sometimes its relaxing

Sailaway is a great way to practice line trimming, or just sail your dream voyage. It allows you to do what you've always wanted to do, be it sailing a race like the Vendee Globe or just chill out on a 38ft cruiser or Nordic Folkboat. I've personally used the Mini Transat and Folkboat for almost my entire time playing the game and can say, as someone who sails in real life, that the Aerodynamics model is relatively true to Life. 8/10. Must have if you like Offshore/Coastal sailing.
its not what u thnk its like no updates hits deep water in moreton bay cant go into rivers BIG PORTS
As a real life sailor with 50 hours on steam and easily another 100 in game on my non steam account, I loved sailaway II. However, the developer has completely shut down the game including the servers, due to the release of sailaway III. Launching the game at the time of this review just shows a loading screen with not even a message saying that it has been shut down. While the game is no longer available for purchase on the steam store, the description states that the game will "continue to coexist especially for people who don't want to part... from sailaway III." This statement still remains despite the servers being shut down. I have purchased Sailaway III and enjoy it, however liked to often come back to this game because it offered different boats, features and 'feel'. Now I am no longer able to access any of that. Shutting down a paid game with no offline mode, no fallback, and lack of proper communication is unacceptable. Sailaway II was an amazing simulator, but the way it was handled is deeply disappointing.
When I got this sim I knew how to sail a small lake boat but had no idea how to sail a bluewater Ketch. Now I OWN a bluewater Ketch. It's going to take two years of fixing it on YouTube to get it perfect, but a Formosa 41" Ketch was too good to pass up for $7800. It'll be worth $85,000 completed. I sailed it solo from Miami FL. to Corpus Christi TX. without a single problem.
It doesn´t work.
no carga el juego
Je viens de recharger SALAWAY, et il ne fonctionne pas ;vous pouvez m'expliquer MERCI.
