Definitely scratches that top-down Zelda itch. The only complaint is your main weapon, since you are mostly confined to moving/aiming up, down, left, any weapon that can be swung as opposed to the poking and forward striking spear, would have been a better choice, that's in my opinion. Tough to take on multiple baddies when stuck in a confined space, not enough time to switch from different targets coming at you at once without an attack that swings. Other than that gripe, I dig it.
This game is an homage to the top-down Zelda games (i.e. Oracles and Link's Awakening). It features similar puzzles, items and gameplay to those games. The biggest downside to this game is its length - you can 100% the game in under 5 hours, which is about what you would expect at this price. Overall, the game is pretty enjoyable and has charm, and I recommend it to fans of the older 2D Zelda games.
If you're looking for something similar to Link's Awakening, this works. The game is serviceable, but there is some jank to it. Enemies will juggle you and drain your health quickly due to lack of i-frames. Some walls you're required to bomb to proceed have cracked walls, some don't. A number of your available items are awkward to use. Opening and loading the game leaves you with only 3 hearts even if you have more. The basic spear strike is sometimes awkward. Some items that should have been passive upgrades require you to swap to them to use them, even if "use" just means "are wearing them" instead of hitting a button to use. Don't get me wrong, for the price? It's perfectly fine. 4 hours of game for 6 dollars is a good trade. But there will absolutely be some odd, unpolished, or just annoying parts, and you should know that going in.
This is a fine Zelda-like.
I really wanted to love this game but when you're going out of your way to imitate a game that's come before you, you either need to do something interesting with it or really hone in on the gameplay and this just feels worse to play than the gameboy zelda games. The gamefeel is just worse than the oracle zelda games and it has nothing interesting to offer in a gameplay or puzzle perspective that isn't already stale. Still, I really hope the developers can keep going and can further refine their games in the future and grow to new heights. Every work done as an artist is a learning experience and I want to see what they do next

This game has the same style and gameplay as the original Legend of Zelda. In this game you fight as a heroine to save a prince who has been kidnapped. It's like you're playing as Linkle as opposed to Link. It's very enjoyable. I love the retro feel of it. Very nostalgic.
A bit sluggish, it's playing a zelda game if Link's speed was reduced to 70% for everything from sword swings (Spear in this game) to picking up rocks and pots. That alone is frustrating but would give the game a good review still if everything else was decent. But it's not. The game is very badly programmed, after finding the map in a dungeon, half the dungeon map was missing when I returned later, only for me to realize, the LOADING ROOM was not shown on the map even. Places I bombed open will randomly re-seal, and some switches I hit will un-switch themselves, including one directly after the dungeon you get the bow in, turning the shortcut back into a 1-way trip, so you have to go back the long way through the dungeon to get back up the mountain... only for me to realize I didn't have the item I needed to get past there, but you DO need the bow to get to another zone someplace else entirely. This alone is bad enough, but add the "oh right, moving at 70% speed so I always feel slow", and it makes it feel that much worse. The game's "oops I forgot" reaches a peak when you get the spear upgrade for more damage, and early game enemies that used to take 2 hits will still take 2 hits. If the dev comes back and patches all of these problems, it might be a pretty good little game. But as it currently stands? Pass. Even on sale, skip it.
Its been a while since I played a good Zelda clone.... and... this wasn't one of them. You move too slow, yet the point between falling and staying on the ground your on can be slippery. Switching items is akward and while the game "pauses" for you in that menu, items don't seem to and bombs CERTAINLY dont making points using bombs and arrows at the time a mad dash to get it done rather then just a riddle to solve, killing the fun of the moment AND before I got fed up having me personally convinced a boss was still able to attack while I did my best to switch to a healing potion as fast as I could. Add to this the map button not working half the time, AND finding a infinte loop where falling into water and spawning to fall into water NEVER STOPPED and I was just done. You can do SO MUCH better then this Im sure.
Zelda like fun seemed ok but then it bugged out and boss got trapped out side the arena and stayed locked out stopping all further progression. Even after reload still stuck outside. Might be a rare bug but i can't recommend it. I liked it otherwise.
