S.H.E.L.T.E.R. - An Apocalyptic Tale

I feel I've played the game enough to comfortably write an evaluation of it. This is a soft recommend only — and if only — you have an impregnation fetish. I'm not talking about raw creampies - I'm talking about the actual act of impregnating someone, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ them while they're pregnant and eventually having them deliver you a baby. The art is O.K. Very Newgrounds Westernish. Some of the anatomy and faces in blowjob scenes are kind of horrifying. It's not bad, though. The writing on the other hand is quite poor. It hits the trifecta of threadbare plot, lackluster descriptions of sex (some of it reads like if someone wrote an erotic story before actually experiencing sex or a lack of understanding of how to make writing sexy) and above all a complete grammatical massacre of the English language. Almost every single slide of text can be improved by removing half or all of the commas. You get the impression of someone with a very ballistic approach towards English who fires off commas almost out of anxiety. If the developer is ESL, this is all quite forgiveable and in that case, good for you. However; if English is their first language, then it's fair to say the art is where they had the skill and the writing was an afterthought because you need it to ship the game. I bought this game along with Stellar Dreams — which I have yet to play — and I just really hope it improves in the prose department. It has quite a bit of repetitive tasks to grind up cans of food to buy upgrades to progress "story". What I like about it is that you don't have to screw around with the game for like 2-3 hours before the first sex scene hits (I'm looking at you, Being a ♥♥♥). With such poor writing, it's good that it recognizes itself as a game you're playing for the kink and the smut and gets in quick. I know this comes off as a negative review. It's fine - if a bit overpriced for what it is - but if you're like me and love getting girls pregnant (my name isn't just for show), then it gets over the line.

Отличный законченный проект с несколькими путями развития (романтика, разврат). Песочница скорее текстовая, чем визуальная. Гринд фактически только первые минут 40 имеет значение, дальше у ГГ всего навалом. Хорошая рисовка с добротными персонажами. Приятное разнообразие видов секса. Да, не хватает анимаций и более глубокого сюжета, кроме как перетрахать всё женское население и заделать всем детей, но имеем, что имеем. Лично мне понравилась её кинетичность, когда история идет сама по себе, и игра не ставит тебя перед «муками выбора». Так что советую её всем тем, кто любит атмосферу постапокалипсиса и не перегруженного геймплея. P. S. Серега (Kasatik), спасибо тебе за качественный перевод и перенос его в Steam.

Would have recommeded this but it still needs more work. Just some simpler stuff like a quest log of somekind and a better way to earn the in game currency.

Some decisions feel more impactful than others, but the game generally gives you a reason to pay attention, especially if you like replaying to see different outcomes. Visually, the game leans heavily on character art. If you like VN-style presentation, it’s easy to stay engaged because the characters are distinct and the scenes are clear. The overall look supports the tone: grim situation, but with a focus on people rather than endless ruins. The pacing can be a mixed bag. Early on, it spends a lot of time setting up the cast and the shelter dynamics, which may feel slow if you’re waiting for major plot turns. Later, it tends to move faster, sometimes enough that certain story beats don’t get as much breathing room as they could. Because it’s an adult VN, that content is part of the package, not a small side element. Шестнадцать часов жизни потрачено на то, чтобы выбить все карточки в данной игре. Спойлер: дело бесполезное. Однако сама игра весьма занимательна и способна увлечь любителей чего-то в духе Fallout. В качестве бесспорных плюсов можно выделить сочную рисовку всего и вся, вариативность, а также достойное техническое состояние проекта. Художник молодец, в следующей игре он прокачает свои навыки рисования ещё дальше. Сюжет неплохой, но всё скатывается к сексу между главным героем и всеми окружающими, включая членов семейства. Музыка есть, но ничего выдающегося. Самыми сочными персонажами вышли Мамочка, Одноглазая и Паучиха. Также в игре есть дополнительные активности, которые вы можете спокойно пропустить, но лучше всё-таки порадовать себя парочкой дополнительных сцен. Особых минусов не обнаружил. Придирок также не имею. Ценник приятный, отталкивать не должен. Игра вам не зайдёт, если вы противник визуальных новелл или постапокалиптики. Рекомендую ли я эту игру к покупке? Скорее да, чем нет. Играть скучновато, но фапать интересно. Онанисты, вперёд за покупкой!
