Nice game! its a flying shooter with some cool elements. Its kinda like flying in an Iron Man suit shooting enemies and destroying towers in an alien world. Played the first level, and part of the 2nd one in coop and it was honestly super fun, the movement is fluid and easy to get a hang of, i played with my kid and he didnt have a problem understanding the basics of the game. Ive encountered at least a couple of things/mechanics that made me go "woah that was cool" and made the game worth it just for that. World is nice to explore, maps feel big, but there is really not much to find, i did enconter some crystals(?) i could grab but no idea what they do. The gameplay is fun, the movement is fluid and smooth, graphics are pretty nice, performance with a gtx1080 was acceptable. I did buy this game before it went free to play, but that allowed me to get it for my son and play together, the campaign is "basic" as in there arent many things to do, but its really entertaining, simple and to the point you might say. Easy to recommend because its free, works perfectly fine (with Vive and Index) with no major Bugs.

I recommend this for a fun little experience but unfortunately it looks like this game has been abandoned. It's a damn shame because this game has some MASSIVE potential to be one of the best VR titles out there, but it's been abandoned, so don't expect much. It's fun to fly around though, and the enemy AI is excellent.
Run Of Mydan is an Early Access Free to Play VR Multiplayer PVP combat game. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. It has flying right at the start of the tutorial. You have a shield, guns, grenades. You can change your avatar looks. There is single player story mode, but also can be played MP Co-op. Has 7 steam achievements. This game was release to Early Access in 2017, and it was a grounded endless runner combat game. But the devs change the game at some time, to what it is now. Warning: will cause motion sickness and vertigo. CONS: Does Not work with Quest 3 via Steam Link, crashes to desktop with error. Try this game, if you have iron stomach, like flying and like PVP.
Run of Mydan was an attempt at making a PvP on-rails first person VR exclusive shooter. There's a weird sci-fi/fantasy theme but at the end of the day this is a really cut down "arena" shooter with less player agency than some 1980's arcade machines. To hide the fact that it's hard to do physics well in a VR game, you can fly, that's easier to implement. It failed. SteamDB shows the game peaked at just 12 players, which is a pitiful number, and now the game has practically no players, with only one person logging on every other day, briefly, then leaving right away. The developers abandoned the game roughly one year after launch, leaving it in a broken and incomplete state, to pollute Steam and force gamers to filter through even more crap when searching for decent games. The game completely failed to garner any interest from gamers, less than 10% of the people who own it bothered to go as far as the introduction to pick up the first achievement. Less than 10 percent! Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! This seems to have been made a VR exclusive to prevent any comparison with non-VR 3D games, a comparison that this game would fail very badly at. Developers must learn that while VR is great, if the only thing that makes the game great is the VR, then the game isn't great at all. Imagine a game so bad that it was made VR exclusive, in the hopes that would prevent people playing it and comparing it to professionally developed games. The game wasn't always free, it was a paid game, but that made no difference to the player counts. Furthermore, the developer sold keys to this abandoned Early Access game into cheap, nasty game bundles so it can be sold as a complete game. This seems to have been done in an attempt to mislead gamers into buying a knowingly faulty, defective and incomplete product. When a developer does this for a game they have zero practical intention of completing, this is essentially a scam, an intention to get paid for a broken/unfinished product. Often this is done as an exit strategy, as the developer takes the money and runs. No refunds have been given, the developer kept all the money they took from gamers. The developer abandoned the game shortly after this final cash grab. The developers made the terrible mistake of launching a multiplayer focused game in Early Access. This is almost certain to kill the game. Most gamers will evaluate a game only once. If they do so when the game is incomplete, they will check it out, then abandon it (just like the developers did). When (IF) the game eventually does get around to release, there will be no players, because the developers burned the first impressions through their faulty Early Access experience. Players who saw the game and didn't like it because it was incomplete do not come back. Multiplayer games must have a large population if they are to go "viral" and succeed. Releasing a multiplayer focused game into early access kills the game population, and thus the game, before the game even launches. And here is where the developers really, really shot themselves in the foot, doomed to fail before they even started. As we've discussed, PvP arena/multiplayer games absolutely have to have a huge playerbase, streamers, community, every single player they can get is vital, they need critical mass, they have to go viral or they will fail. And the geniuses at Virtew decided that the best way to get as many players as possible was to lock their game behind VR exclusivity, and as we all know from the Valve hardware surveys from Steam, only 2% of gamers have VR headsets. So, Virtew decided the best way to get as many players as possible so they can go viral would be to lock out 98% of gamers. It's no mystery this was a complete failure. The developers have acted unethically and made highly questionable choices, both morally and technically, all of which lead to this failure.
A pleasant surprise. While this game is unlikely to get out of early acces, in it's current state it is playable without a problem (at least I did not come across one). It may be short, but I've fully enjoyed every moment I've spend flying around in this game. I also really like the controls of the flying and I would like more vr games to implement something similar, as it was a great experience. If you're looking for a quick co-op to play with your friend with vr, consider trying this one. I don't regret buying this even before it was set as a free game. 7/10
