Had me hooked right from the start, not just for the mystery but because Feriza, Layla, and Yosephine are out here solving puzzles in outfits that scream dungeon chic with a side of, did you forget half your clothes? I’m supposed to focus on the story, but bro, these designs got me distracted. Yeah, boobs it’s cool, but I’m here lowkey obsessed with fishing, cooking, and the strategically placed outfits. Game’s solid, hope they expand features (and wardrobe options). Instant classic. 11/10 would fish and fry again while trying not to get caught staring. Good luck!
This RPG Maker game is a decent playthrough with its standard turn-based combat and straightforward story. You follow Feriza, Layla, and Yosephine as they explore dungeons and try to piece together their lost memories. While the gameplay is solid and offers the usual dungeon crawling with puzzles and exploration, it doesn’t really push any boundaries. The side activities like fishing and cooking add some extra flavor, but don’t expect anything revolutionary. It’s a nice, standard indie RPG Maker game, enjoyable but nothing exceptional.
Ruins of Dawnseeker is a decent RPGMaker title that combines traditional JRPG elements with a few unique twists, such as fishing and cooking, which add depth to the gameplay. The story follows Feriza, Layla, and Yosephine as they navigate mysterious dungeons in search of their lost memories and a greater truth behind the Dawnseeker Ruins. While the narrative is straightforward, it has its moments, particularly as the trio’s bond grows. Gameplay & Mechanics The gameplay is classic turn-based combat, without any added battle mechanics, but what stands out is the use of fishing and cooking. These features allow players to create various buffs, with the most powerful being the elusive Whale Soup. Cooking is a rewarding system, as crafting different recipes gives an edge in battles, providing much-needed buffs that are crucial for progressing through tougher enemies. Dungeons are standard in design, offering a mix of puzzles and enemy encounters. While the exploration doesn’t stray far from RPGMaker norms, the hidden items and fishing spots scattered throughout add a layer of discovery. Players can explore and gather ingredients, making preparation a strategic aspect of the game. Story & Characters The story itself is decent but doesn't break new ground. Feriza, Layla, and Yosephine each have unique personalities, but the character development feels a bit shallow. The narrative is straightforward and leans heavily on familiar JRPG tropes. However, the bond between the characters adds a touch of charm, and their interactions inject some lighthearted moments into the game. **Spoiler Alert for the Ending**: The journey to the Dawnseeker Ruins is revealed to be a near-death experience following a mountain accident. The trio awakens in a hospital, realizing their shared adventure was more of a spiritual journey that strengthened their connection. This twist adds a bittersweet note to the ending but may feel somewhat expected. Visuals & Sound The visuals are typical for an RPGMaker game, with colorful pixel art that sets the tone but lacks standout quality. The environments have enough variety to keep exploration interesting, though they can feel repetitive. The soundtrack complements the gameplay, but it doesn’t leave a strong impact and might feel repetitive over time. Final Verdict *Ruins of Dawnseeker* is a decent, if unremarkable, JRPG experience that will appeal to fans of classic RPGMaker games. The addition of fishing and cooking adds some extra depth, with Whale Soup as the game’s ultimate buff—a fun detail that gives players an edge. While the story and visuals are fairly standard, it’s a good choice for anyone looking for a nostalgic, straightforward RPG with a few interesting features.
The story is really cute and touching. The game isn't really difficult and there is some jank to it. Even with that though this is a really good game. Highly recommend!
This game brings a classic turn-based system that’s simple yet satisfying. For a quick 4-hour experience at just 3 bucks, it offers great value. The real highlight is the side quests—they’re packed with humor and unique character interactions, making each detour worth the time. These quests bring depth to the story and give you little rewards that make exploration feel worthwhile. If you’re into straightforward JRPG mechanics with some entertaining extras on the side, this one’s a solid choice. Stay focused. Keep grinding.
so i go a utterly wild story to tell you all about how i came about playing this game. strap in. so as you can see my online alias is Dawnseeker101 this has been my username and alias since 2015. coincidence #1 i have a love for RPGs one of my favorite genres really. coincidence #2 i ALSO love games with female protagonists. coincidence #3 in particular i enjoy anime style female protagonists coincidence #4 and finally it had a low price tag perfect for me who doesn't have lots of money coincidence number F'ing 5 at this point finding this game in my steam discovery que seemed like an act of fate itself. like a cosmic endorsement. crazy story aside i enjoyed the game but to be brutally honest its not really that unique in gameplay or art or pretty much anything but let it be known you don't necessarily have to be unique to be fun and i did enjoy the story granted the script was awkward in some places but i think of all the aspects of the game the music was done best. in conclusion while not really unique in any way its fun and i feel like it did have some passion behind its creation so i don't regret buying or playing it.
Amnesia is the starter, and mystery is your main course. You wake up as Feriza, joined by Layla and Yosephine—three leading ladies with no memory and one shared mission: reach the enigmatic Dawnseeker Ruins. Sounds like your typical Saturday morning? Visually, think of a decent RPG Maker game. The dungeons are a blend of puzzles, exploration, and hidden treasures that test your patience and reward your curiosity. Each step feels like peeling back layers of a mystery that could either save these characters or doom them. Worth the price.
Forget all those touted key features. The game is a simple RPG. Depending on whether you want to grind to survive even the extra battles or prefer to quickly complete everything, it takes between 2 and 5 hours. Tactics: Well, basically choosing the right spell for the enemy (but it hardly makes a difference). Combos: I didn't find any and therefore didn't use them. Different Dungeons: Slightly different visuals and different enemies (but very few). Rich Story: Uhhh, well, maybe at the end, but you hardly notice it during gameplay. Stunning Visuals: Still images of the heroines... if that's supposed to be stunning. Overall, it's a quick snack before starting a real game. You can try it out, but you won't miss anything if you ignore it.
