Ruin is a free to play survival sci-fi sandbox MMORPG indie game where you try to survive on mankinds attempt to colonize a distant planet. Chances are stacked against you, but don't give up. You are most likely the last human alive. It is up to you and you alone to do what you must to stay alive.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

I wont lie, My first impressions weren't great. But, if you stick with it for a little bit and figure out how things work and what's going on, The game really opens up and grows on you. The housing system is really cool, same with the terraforming/mining system. The game has more of a sandbox MMO feel due to there not being any quests, personally I prefer it that way. Things definitely need to be smoothed out a bit and some bugs need to be fixed. Overall Id say its a good start to what could be a really fun MMO, it has heart and that's what counts.
it's really fun. The game is still really barebones in a lot of areas, if you're a bit slow on the uptake like me, it's a bit hard to figure some things out...like how to get iron (psst, its the different colored spots on the ground, gotta dig those) but I really dig the style, crafting is fun, combat is fun, leveling is fun. I'm really looking forward to this games future :)

Fun. i'm enjoying it a lot, has an old mmorpg feel to it. If you're into older mmos and don't mind playing during development then i'd say give it a shot! Dev is constantly working on updates for content and performances and very active!
This cookie still needs ALOT of baking, I wouldn't try playing it until its a little more developed.
- Loaded in with my friend - killed a couple wolves - went into town - friend glitched through the map - found our sensei who taught us how to use the unstuck command and chop down wood - sensei slapped me for speaking slang - sensei told us to spread out new knowledge around - got a house down - got a furnace - made some gold - realised achievements where bugged Will never play again but i can tell there is a strong community to this game who wants to see it grow and become a really fun and playable game (once comment i might add is the in game time goes super slow the whole time me and my friend where playing it was night) but other than that the game is super to chill and mess around with a friend 10/10 to whoever out sensei was thank you for teaching us how to chop a tree and slapping me (Come slap me slap me again)

having a lot of building my little house, killing wolves and interacting with the other players
Originally a negative review. I was whining about the spiders being a bit too aggressive in packs of 6 and running away when low on health. Guess what, the developer, the next day, nerfed them a bit. Now they are tolerable. This review is now a positive. Why? Guy's....this is Everquest 1, with housing anywhere, for free. Sure, the graphics suck. But its free folks. Sick of all the monetization from Daybreak games with regards to EQ1? None of that crap here. You can buy mounts for cash but they are easily obtainable in game as well with a bit of grinding. This solo project is worth watching if you've exhausted every other old school mmo out there.
I entered the game a guy killed me I had to decide whether to wait 5 minutes or go to my body as a ghost I became a ghost at the cemetery exit I fell into a hole I got stuck in the hole now I've been stuck for 10 minutes and can't get to my body 10/10
Between inverted camera and optimization issues, this game is not at a place where I can recommend this.
