I loved the first RUTM that came out. What a great game that was. The second iteration, RUTM 2017 took some steps back from the first version. Not a problem I thought, I will just continue playing the first version, with much enjoyment. This version, RUTM3, has taken more steps backward. I tried to play it again today but just can't get into it. The search function (for players, staff etc) is tedious; there is no ability to filter on key attributes. This was a feature in the first version; why has it been removed? How difficult would it be to include this feature again? Not very I suspect. Secondly, perhaps the developers could allow a user to design their own dashboard of key attributes that they find useful. Having to swap between general info, physical, mental and technical attributes every time you want to understand a players skillset is massively clunky. And why is it so slow to load / flip between menu's / search for players or staff? Again, clunky. There is also a sense of information overload. Could be because I haven't really been able to get into the game with any consistency. Which is a shame because I really love the concept - I am a big rugby union fan - and I would love for this to work. But at the moment it doesn't. If you also love RU then I can recommend the first RUTM that came out (I think it was in 2015) but not this one.

Good game in match plays a great new feature. The game is a bit easy though. Won the leaugue 1st season with glasgow and finalist of the world cup with scotland. Mods for player names essential. Similar to RUTM 2017 but better no bugs and more user friendly. Matches more pleasant to watch with more variety of play

if when your going to play a match, the match can be playable like "rugby champions" it would be the best current rugby game. It would be a really simple, but GREAT! game.

I have RUTM 2017, and seeing this I was excited and thought the game would have moved on more considerably than it has. I don't know, maybe being a Football Manager player as well I know how good this game could really be for rugby union fans but this falls too short for my liking. Players all costing the same price so difficult to buy unless you want to comb through all the stat numbers. Players fitness levels all over the place, even showing 99 before a match and dropping as much as 30 by kick off. I liked being able to choose moves at set pieces which is no longer a function, only at penalties. I found how the whole financials parts are set out to be quite confusing. I'm sure many will disagree with me, but as I said in my opening line, I think I had higher expectations and doubt I will play this again. On the plus side the next one can only get better!
