No where did it tell me that this wasn't a full game. The game play that is there was mostly acceptable, but there was one puzzle that when I took a step, it became impossible and I had to start the entire game over. It wasn't terrible because it was near the beginning, but later they set up checkpoints. I enjoyed what I was able to do, but I don't like feeling trapped with non completion. Add on to that, why are we even doing this? Is the end goal even what we need to do? If going back to the beginning was an option, why wasn't it done in the past? Was the nap too powerful? Lastly, the game play video steam has gives hints to several of the puzzles. If you choose to play this, there are several good things about the game. The puzzles are fun, the pace is relaxing. Part of my reason for not recommending it, is because of how it messes with my head. One of the biggest things I object to, is there are conversations that start upon reaching certain areas, and they go by extremely quickly. I read somewhat slowly, so I can't read the entire sentence before it goes away. Also, I feel like the story is empty, thrown together to try to say there even is a story.
Interesting puzzle mechanics in a game which ends just as it starts to explore the more complex possibilities. The game is incomplete and I would love to see where it goes from here. Would be nice if it had a 'Save' feature but as it stands, the game isn't long enough to truly warrant one. I managed to soft-lock myself with a little pit right near the beginning while trying to get around the first gate, so might be worth while to make sure invisible barriers are in place to stop that from happening. Overall, seems interesting and the story also seems to have potential, curious to see where it goes from here.

I love the games art style but, hate the fact that it doesn't have a settings menu and it's been on steam for a while now so am taking it's not a mistake that there's no settings menu and it keeps on crushing as well
Jeu sympa et prometteur mais il manque quand même la base : la sauvegarde !
A free game, and I should be arguing that it's worth what I paid for it, but this time ... It's worth what I paid for it. Reasons it's not worth an hour of your time: No settings. Not graphics, controls, or music. Obnoxious ambient noises associated with some puzzles that threaten to occlude that music that was so much a part of this. It's not even complete. It was a student project, and part of me wants to give it credit for that, but you reactivate two of the four crystals needed to send buddy home, and ... We hope you enjoyed our (prototype) game. Thanks for playing.
Ruby and The Lost Crystals is a charming little puzzle adventure that I liked because it makes me switch between two characters to solve problems. I explore ancient ruins with Ruby and her companion, using their different abilities to open paths and uncover the lost crystals. I enjoyed the feeling of working out how the two characters could complement each other rather than simply searching for keys. The puzzle design is built around physical interaction with the environment. I can move objects, swap them around, reflect lasers and use magical projectiles to activate different mechanisms. I liked that the puzzles usually give me enough information to understand what I should be doing without making every solution completely obvious. Switching between characters is the mechanic that gives the game its identity. Each character approaches obstacles differently, so I need to think about which one is best suited for a particular situation. I enjoyed the moments where I had to combine their abilities because those are the puzzles that make the most of the central concept. The ancient ruins are also a lovely setting for this type of adventure. The colorful three dimensional visuals make the environments pleasant to explore, while the fantasy and mythology elements give the game a little more personality. I liked searching for hidden objects and looking around the environment because the world is attractive enough to encourage exploration. My biggest issue is that some of the puzzles are fairly easy once I understand the logic behind them. I occasionally wanted more complicated combinations that required me to use several mechanics together. The adventure is also fairly focused, so there is not a huge amount of content once I have seen what the main systems can do. Still, the game has a very approachable design that makes it easy to enjoy. I never felt like I was being punished for experimenting, and the physical interactions make the puzzles more satisfying than simply selecting dialogue options. The colorful presentation also gives the whole thing a friendly atmosphere. Overall, Ruby and The Lost Crystals is a cute and enjoyable puzzle adventure with a strong central mechanic. I liked switching between the two characters, manipulating objects and solving environmental challenges while exploring the ruins. It could offer more difficult puzzles and more content, but the basic idea works really well and makes for a pleasant free adventure. Rating: 7/10
i desire the full thing
Gerat fun game. Finished the game. Full gmae takes approximately 1.5 hours. If you haven't played Ruby and The Lost Crystals give it a go. Just be aware there is no save or auto save so you have to finish it in one sitting or through the day. It took me 1.5 hours. If you did it rigjt you should smash the LAST BIG CRYSTAL at the end and they tell you theres 3 more but then up pops an on screen message saying you have restoredt he crystals thanks for playing. the game does continue on after that but there's nothing to do after that unless you want to explore, but therei's nothing to colelct and no achievements so not worth continue playing after end game. Nice graphics though. Acceptable run speed,. Challenging laser puzzles. Laser puzzles go from easy to medium difficulty with rotating levers and using special skills to change the colours and using mirrors (later on) to rebound shots. 8/10 final rating.
Ruby and the Lost Crystals is a free but unfinished game set in a very attractively designed and coloured 3D world. The main character Ruby and her alien partner Sapphire can jointly activate remote switches and exchange items to reroute light beams, open doorways, activate elevators etc. The mechanics reminded me of a mixture of Portal and The Talos Principle, including "screens" that stop Ruby and Sapphire targeting objects outside their immediate area. The game story is to locate and activate four large crystals to power up an intergalactic "gate", but this prototype suddenly announces that it has ended after the second crystal is powered up (to be fair, there are quite a few nice puzzles to solve to reach this point). There is a sub-plot to find and activate 10 statue heads but, again, there only appear to be seven by the time that the game halts. Note that doesn't appear to be any kind of "save" feature - stopping the game then restarting loses all progress. I enjoyed playing Ruby and the Lost Crystals while it lasted - my play time represents two playthroughs - and It is a shame that this game, with its good artistic design and neat puzzles, appears to have no development future.
