MV is a significantly more powerful and objectively superior engine but this one just has such soul and is so snappy to make things with that I can't help but enjoy using it
Even if you're not very good at game design, it's fun to tool around with. I may only have 25 minutes on the Steam version, but I have almost 100 hours played on the non-Steam version I had two computers ago.
