Royalty Free-For-All

I'm only making a review for feedback purposes but first and foremost: The game is fun, it has heart and soul and it's a great project, but at the time of this review I'm refunding but I'm open to buying it again. I'm only refunding because I was a little let down by how simple the controls is. It bothers me that the weaks, strongs and specials do not have different attacks for each direction (up down back forward), same with aerials. I get this is more of a party game than a competitive one like Rivals 2 which I'm most used to, but I believe both things can coexist, like Smash for example which stands in the middle of Rivals 2 and RFFA. TL;DR - Fun, but not for me, at least for now.

this game is great, but the mouse boss fight is literally the worst boss i have ever seen, i will never touch arcade mode again, i would literally rather skin myself on camera than play it again, i would actually rather die then play arcade mode. some might not mean what they say, i do, if someone asked me, i will skin myself on a camera, literally agonizing suicide would be a more appealing fate to me then arcade mode (maybe that just means i'm suicidal though and looking for excuse?) great game. 8/10, but hell is better than arcade mode. look up rat cage torture and i would rather do that than play arcade mode again.

As someone whose favorite game of all time is Ultimate, I can confidently say the Royalty Free For All is incredible. The animations are beautiful, all the characters are unique and the stages are great. What I wanna mention most importantly is the controls. It is very simplified from a game like Ultimate, but it works so well. It makes every character have something special while also being very easy to pick up and play, while at the same time being pretty competitive. This game is a 10/10 in my book

It has a ton of charm, you can tell the devs love the genre and the concept of royalty free. Kind of unreal how they announced eight characters and released an additional six?? Excited to see what they keep cooking. The movesets feel inspired and always make me smile, like when I hit someone with a big ol bat as Piglet.

Plato's allegory of the cave is a level in the game. Might be the realest thing of all time. I think its pretty fun. I fear that it might be too simple for its own good though. I think of all the games that do the whole "epic public domain" thing i've seen going around this does it the best. The characters aren't just 1 for 1 the guy from the thing if that makes sense. You can tell a lot of love was put into all of the characters. The gameplay is very simple on purpose but I fear it may be too simple for some. I personally feel like a bit more depth needs to be added at some point but that's just my opinion. It's definetly worth 11 dollars, and its like 7 rn cause it just launched so what do you have to lose? I'd say its worth at least giving a spin.

Great game with a lot of character, I think it could use a bit more polish, but its new. We had some slight issues running it on our steam deck but I hope those get ironed out soon!
