This game has impeccable vibes, and a beautiful, clean style that makes playing it and dancing with your little sprite enchanting and mysterious. The game is tough as hell at the higher difficulties, but it's super satisfying to polish your skills to get just a little bit further. If you love bullet hells with great patterns, mechanics, and vibes, definitely give this one a shot!
Just wrapped up Relaxed Reverie (aka easy mode), feeling good—until I got completely whooped in Ordinary Dream (Normal Mode)! Rotschwert has totally hooked me, and now I’m obsessed with uncovering all the strange little mysteries tucked away in its world. The minimalist art style is clean, striking, and pairs beautifully with the eerie, dreamy vibe. Add in the soundtrack, and you’ve got an atmosphere that really pulls you in. There are four different modes to explore, so whether you’re new to the genre or a bullet-hell veteran, there’s something here for you. I also really appreciate the segment select feature—it’s such a nice touch to be able to jump back into specific challenges without replaying everything from the beginning. Combat-wise, it’s fast, fluid, and super satisfying. The blend of stylish swordplay and bullet-dodging chaos keeps things intense and immersive from start to finish. If you're into games that combine challenging gameplay with a surreal, abstract story, Rotschwert is 100% worth checking out.
Rotschwert is a pretty solid shmup that does a few things to differentiate itself from other shmups. In this game, you're given health instead of extra lives. Another thing I should point out is that you don't take contact damage from enemies but rather you damage the enemies when you collide with them which I think is pretty unique. I also like the atmosphere in this one. The soundtrack is also pretty good. Overall, I will be coming back to this one a fair bit and eventually tackling the higher difficulties. I look forward to Nullschwert. This is an easy recommendation especially if you like bullet hell shmups.
what?
Awesome game! Minimalist in style but with excellent level design, and it gives off a really mysterious vibe. Everything is super readable, the different weapons feel powerful just as they should, and the enemies are well-balanced (no bullet sponges). I definitely recommend buying it — kudos to the developer!"
