Rogue Legacy 2 is what you'd get if you mashed Rogue Legacy and a sequel together. Every time you die, your children will succeed you, and each child is unique. Your daughter might be a Colourblind Archer, and your son could be a Pacifistic Chef. Either way, one of them is getting conscripted.

Felt really annoyed playing this. I think a lot of my problems would be fixed with a smaller map, like you're limited in the amount of upgrades you can carry without reducing max health which seems to be the game's way of telling you to only do 1-2 zones per run, you can't refight bosses because they just stay dead (until you do a new save or ng+ apparently) which again seems to be the game telling you only do newest zone, the game locks zones off by upgrades so you can't try accessing high level areas early on for better rewards if you feel confident, wayyyy too much grinding for gold for upgrades, the difficulty per zone seems to be 90% determined by your class (wide open area play archer and you're untouchable, but take them in a zone with high enemy density and you're done for). It's also weird, they added changing difficulty for accessibility like lower enemy damage, perma flying, etc. which is fine however they didn't add a way to disable specific items/traits that you hate (unless it's pretty deep in the upgrade path) which I would want far more than being able to essentially activate god mode, especially when the game insists on adding traits that are made to purely to be annoying. I think if the game was much tighter in scope a lot of my issues would be resolved, but there's too much annoying junk in here for me to want to finish.
「Enter the Gungeon」「Risk of Rain 2」「Dead Cells」「ONE STEP FROM EDEN」「Roboquest」の魅力に比べたら1割にも満たないですが、まぁメトロイドヴァニア+ローグライトが好きなら楽しめるかもしれません。
One of the best roguelites I've ever played
Rogue legacy sets itself apart with expansive variety, fluid combat, and some incredible boss fights. However, the game really struggles with pace, story, and consistency. Defeating a boss doesn't change the starting area, it doesn't progress the story nor change the characters, nothing really happens but a portrait is colored-in above the final boss door. Your character is booted back out in to the dungeon to continue on with a few pennies and a much lower health bar, which I think summaries well both what's great and awful about this game. The boss fights and individual enemies are very well designed, combat is a lot of fun, but the rest of the game seems almost forgotten about. There is a list of issues with the midgame/lategame: - The few gear sets available are underwhelming at best - The game stops giving new abilities after the 2nd level. - The tech tree pricing doesn't make sense - There are no free character rerolls, but you can immediately kill off a character once entering the dungeon to pick again. You can buy rerolls in the tech tree at 1 reroll: $5000, 2nd reroll: $8200, killing the final boss = $4500. - Defeating a boss gives basically nothing but 1/6th of a key to the final boss. - For a game focusing on your legacy, it doesn't give any way to view your legacy other than individual portraits when respawning. So there is no way to track previous character achievements or see which bosses were defeated by whom. - The starting area music is completely out of place, and most of the music is repetitive. - The 3rd boss doesn't fit the level, and is the 2nd or 3rd most difficult boss in the game. - The Scar system is difficult to find, difficult to do, and I almost felt forced to google their locations. 3/5
Wanted to wrire a review full of glazing and explaining why i like it, but then realised that nobody really cares. If you need it, know that it's a great game you'll probably enjoy playing, no matter who you are and what games you like.
