Absolute garbage, I would rather pay for a few good songs and keep them rather than a subscription to 1000+ mid/♥♥♥♥ tier songs
Honestly, I wish we had a "Meh" button. I get the irritation with the subscription model. Especially since songs seem to (sometimes) go in and out of rotation depending on the licensing between Ubisoft and the music distributors. Also, I miss multi-player mode. My wife plays bass and my daughter plays guitar and bass, so when we're all together, we play the old Rocksmith 2014. The song catalog also seems to be missing a few classic songs that were available on the old system. I don't know how much different the production pipeline is, but you'd think there'd be an internal tool that would allow Ubi to publish all of the old 2014 catalog once licensing was cleared. Doesn't seem to be a thing though. Being constantly connected can be a thing but I've been able to play on my mobile hotspot with my cell, so it's not as terrible as it was. I do think maybe Ubi has made the data requirements slimmer. I had issues playing on my hotspot before but now it seems pretty consistent. The system has worked flawlessly with my audio interface. One thing I'll give Ubisoft is they do seem to be trying to make this game more usable and expand the song catalog. This is the first year I've felt like my subscription was worth it. Also, one thing I'll give the Rocksmith system, it does improve your ability to sight read (at least for me anyway). To be fair, I think the game is worth a Thumbs up now, but I wouldn't have said that previously. Ubi is making improvements.
