very good
is ok
I've had this game since 2016, and over the years it's been a pretty typical up-and-down journey, especially for a competitive ranked game. However, ever since Epic acquired Psyonix, it feels like Rocket League has been on a steady downhill trajectory. There is a huge list of issues that continue to go ignored. I appreciate the efforts they've made to combat bots, but unfortunately, it just isn't enough. One of the biggest problems I've been running into recently is the sheer number of players being boosted into ranks they clearly don't belong in. It feels like every other game I run into someone who has dropped from GC down to C1 or even D3, only to carry their high-Plat friend through the ranks. I've even encountered people who openly appear to be paid boosters. The problem is rampant, and there doesn't seem to be any meaningful effort to fix it. Another major issue is players intentionally throwing matches over the smallest inconveniences. This happens at pretty much every rank, and honestly, it's just sad. I've solo-queued from Plat 1 all the way to D3, and I could write an entire book about the teammates throwing games, opponents getting boosted, and straight-up trolls I've encountered along the way. The frustrating part is that Rocket League is still an incredibly fun game at its core. That's what makes watching it decline so disappointing. There is so much potential here, but it feels like the game is being left to slowly deteriorate while many of its biggest problems remain unaddressed. And finally... BRING BACK TRADING.
