Man, I've been looking for this game for ages! I had the demo of it way back in the 90's and spent hours playing the same levels over and over, I can't believe the whole version is on steam! This game is the perfect illustration of gameplay over graphics, it's just as fun as I remember it was when I was a kid playing the demo. It's such a unique game, I haven't come across anything like it. The bonus now is that I'm able to play using a controller instead of on a keyboard like I did in the 90's, I just remapped my SCUF controller and it worked like a charm. If you haven't played it, I definitely recommend it, especially for $8!
This game is worth the purchase for the soundtrack files alone. I played this game a lot when it came out. It runs better now. The game files has the music. I used to put the game CD in my car and listed to the music, It's nice to have it again.
This game is awesome, Full Stop. The concept is something that really captures the imagination. Riding a bike powered by only a liquid fuel rocket, piloted by a mad man (or women) into victory. You can race against the clock, you can play soccer (or football), but the main event is the Rocket War!!! Yank people off their repurposed ICBMs, drag them around like a lasso'ed cowboy, and tie them to a bomb, only to finish them by cloths-lining them and running them down. Runs beautifully on modern hardware, re-configuring controls will help getting over the awkward scheme, and YES, you can use controllers, BUT needs to be mapped in such a way to emulate the keyboard. Steam allows this, but it may take some trial and error. Awesome game, easily worth the price.
