This is a family friendly retro 2D pixel platformer/shooter where the developers forgot to use pixel graphics all the time, and just use them some of the time. Control a giant robot/whatever and explore a system of mazelike platformer levels. There's some good ideas here with a variety of unlocks and upgrades that help progress you through the story. The downside is, as the schizophrenic art style tries to tell us, the quality here is completely terrible. Very, very ugly graphics. Fixed resolution. Fixed controls. No fullscreen, so the game runs in a tiny window. Way below minimum standards for any PC game, and so, impossible to recommend.
игра прикольная вроде фигня какаято а затягивает я вот зашол просто посмотреть на 5мин а остался на 45мин)))
I have played a TON of low-budget Metroidvanias, and I can sometimes stumble on some serious gold beneath an otherwise ugly exterior. RES isn’t exactly gold… but it’s surprisingly fun and competent. It is a standard Metroidvania that does everything fairly well. Good level design, character progression, and pacing. The art is very basic, with some bad mixed resolutions creating weird artifacts. But those little imperfections can end up charming if the gameplay succeeds, which it did. Is it a must play? No. But it is better than a lot of Metroidvanias in its league, so it’s playable for a fanatic like me.

Not a groudbreaking game, but still a solid and rather short Metroidvania experience at a low price that you should pick up if you love this genre.

Tags: Platformer - Metroidvania Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Got bored very quick. Felt like a chore. Not very recommendable due to low production value, very generic setting, lack of resolution options. The cartoony cylon looking robot and generic aliens in a arguably low violence enough universe and the straightforward approach to the game would make it suitable gaming for younger boys. Somewhat low value visuals metroidvania with decent audio, and at least some effort in animating the low quality sprites. Writing is thin and dumb but consistent in tone and fairly no-nonsense. Xbox 360 pad worked great. Jumping and shooting mechanics seemed fine. Level design went from too simplistic to frustrating with tons of little platforms, spammed foes and having to guess where to go next. Checkpoint system worked fine. Game offered multiple save slots. Inventory system seemed rather barebones. I did not find a map option.
