At first i needed to get used to everything in the game but after a bit i really started catching on! its such a fun experience to have and this is by far the best vr horse game out there. Im really excited what the future will bring with this game!
Very cute! Love it<3
Rival Stars is a game I used to play a lot when I was younger and still play to this day, so when I seen there was a VR version I got it as soon as possible. I have always absolutely loved horses and I could play this for ages if I was able to.
The racing is tons of fun, but it's a little short on content or progression atm. Hopefully that changes soon. I played it so much I almost ruptured my achilles tendon though. :)
Fun horse breeding sim with several types of racing/riding games. The mechanics for Flat racing are arcadey, simple and exciting. The breeding can be very fast and straight forward but there is a fair bit of depth. The loading is fast and there is teleport and smooth loco for walking. I've had a few sound bugs and crashes but the autosave was enough to keep me from losing progress. I'm not especially into horses but this is a good game. I imagine it would only be better if you really liked them. I'd like to be able to spectate and bet in game cash on CPU races. Would be fun and a way to check out stud horses. If that's in the game, I haven't unlocked it yet.
This is the funnest VR horse game I have ever played. Racing is SOOOO fun and THE FOAL ARE SOOOO CUTE. U CAN CUDDLE THEM !!!! I love how the horses have favorite foods too. I think I'm addicted to this game :)
A surprisingly efficient workout and the only horse-focused VR title available at this time. Much like other Rival Stars games, this game focuses on racing and breeding, but also includes a horse care element. You can brush, pet, and feed treats to your horses to raise their stats. In races, you use VR motion controls to steer your horse and encourage it to run. You can compete in flat racing or cross country. The game is unfinished, with a race level limit of 6, and limited horse availability compared to the main games. The storyline is incomplete as well. This is a good game if you want to enjoy racing and caring for horses while getting a killer arm workout.
This is the start of something extremely fun. It is immersive to me, high quality horses and mechanics as always from PikPok. What I would love to see: Moving instead of teleportation, and as always... more content! Perhaps I am just excited to see a VR horse based game. But- That doesn't mean this isn't super fun.
It's a horse game in VR. If you're lacking VR legs, def stick to teleport over smooth locomotion but there's a massive amount of charm to this game as well. I might have squeed out loud at finding my first horse's favourite scratchy spot and the grooming mini game is not too obnoxious, which is super impressive for a horse game, plus you get to find your horses favourite brush. I like that there's some horse care in this, framed as bonding but it's also not a bunch of mini games. The racing is a lot of fun, requires a little bit of skill but man, did it bring a smile to my face. I like that each horse has a preference for track, distance and position in the field. Cross country was fun and requires a lot more coordination than the racing, definitely want to spend more time building skills at that. The first foal I bred was the cutest thing I've seen in a long time. I'm looking forward to spending time experimenting with the breeding system more, especially the coat colour genetics. All that said, player movement when not on a horse is very janky, having tried both smooth locomotion and teleport and sometimes the UI clips through the horses. I did find patting and grooming the horses occasionally awkward.
So far it's great! but needs a lot of work which I know we will see in the future. I am not using a Quest, I am using a Oculus Rift S, very old but still works to play this game well. I've never played Rival Stars racing ever, and the VR game was my introduction to the game series, and so far it's been so fun, never seen a Horse game give us something like this and I can tell I'll be picking this up more as more updates come out. However there is a known bug that is bugging me! but it only mainly seems to happen when i play the cross country maps? and only sometimes during flat races, but occasionally one of my hands/controllers drifts out of area and thinks it somewhere else whilst i'm holding the reins, if i let go and move my hand they reset and fix, but it happens a lot during cross country, I don't know if this is just because my VR is old or if it just a bug, but if this is fixable please do so! If anyone's really on the fence about getting it, I say do it! it is really fun and such a different experience, and honestly I find it such a great source of escape almost as I get so focused on the races and cross country I can't wait to see more content though! and I hope to see this bug fixed soon! that is if it is a bug..
