Too early to recommend unless you're in for the long-haul with the usual jank and bugs Also, the ai voices are a bit uncanny and no option to silence them was quite unsettling. i'd rather read. controls were pretty mediocre but the cursor always being present on screen and being responsible for camera movements was awful. an input-controlled camera with a cursor mode is essential in any modern game i didn't get far because of this, which is dis-heartening but i don't think i could really put up with grinding for the boats and houses. restarting is a bizzare and misleading process, because for some reason you are locked into starting conditions even after restart... i refunded in the end because of the above jank paired with user experience my advice to the developer is to prioritise player experience and bug squashing to justify early access state
Rise Of Transport, developed and published by Softdimension Games, is an early access transport simulation that approaches the genre from a more relaxed, exploratory angle rather than the highly structured, optimization-heavy style commonly associated with transport tycoon games. Instead of placing players into a tightly managed system of routes and profits from the outset, it gives them the freedom to move through an open world, gradually building a transport operation at their own pace. This design choice shapes the entire experience, making it feel less like a traditional management simulator and more like a hybrid between sandbox exploration and light economic gameplay. The core concept revolves around starting small and expanding gradually. Players begin with basic means of transportation, such as simple carts or early vehicles, and take on delivery tasks to earn money. Over time, these earnings can be reinvested into acquiring new transport methods, improving efficiency, and extending operations. The game’s focus on earlier eras of transportation gives it a slower, more deliberate rhythm, where travel itself becomes part of the gameplay rather than something abstracted away. Moving goods from one location to another is not just a background process but an activity the player actively participates in. One of the more distinctive features of Rise Of Transport is its open-world structure. Players are not confined to menus or overhead management screens but can walk around, board vehicles, and experience the environment directly. This perspective creates a sense of immersion that is uncommon in the genre, allowing players to physically follow the routes they are building. The ability to seamlessly transition between controlling a character and operating transport adds a layer of involvement, making even simple deliveries feel more tangible. However, this same approach also limits the scope of management systems, as the game prioritizes direct interaction over complex logistics. The gameplay systems themselves are intentionally simple. Tasks such as transporting goods, managing basic resources, and upgrading equipment are easy to understand and require minimal learning. This accessibility makes the game approachable, especially for players who might find more complex simulations intimidating. At the same time, it also means that depth is limited. Once the core loop is understood, there are few additional mechanics to expand on it, and much of the progression relies on repeating similar activities rather than discovering new layers of gameplay. The inclusion of cooperative multiplayer adds another dimension to the experience. Playing with others allows for shared tasks and collaborative exploration, which can make the world feel more dynamic and engaging. This feature helps offset some of the repetition found in solo play, as coordinating with other players introduces new possibilities. However, as the game is still in development, these systems are not fully refined, and their impact depends heavily on how they evolve over time. Visually, the game adopts a clean and functional style that supports its open-world design. The environments are pleasant to look at and easy to navigate, though they lack the level of detail and variety seen in more polished simulation titles. The presentation serves its purpose, creating a world that is accessible and readable, but it does not stand out in terms of visual identity. Similarly, the overall atmosphere is calm and understated, reinforcing the game’s focus on a relaxed pace rather than on dramatic or high-intensity moments. As an early access title, the game’s unfinished state is one of its most defining characteristics. While the core systems are in place, there is a noticeable lack of content and variety. Planned features and expansions suggest that the game has room to grow, but in its current form, it can feel incomplete. Progression is limited, and the absence of more advanced systems or diverse challenges makes long-term engagement difficult. The experience often feels like a foundation rather than a fully realized product. Despite these limitations, Rise Of Transport has a clear appeal for players who enjoy slower, more casual simulation experiences. Its emphasis on exploration and direct interaction gives it a unique identity within the genre, even if it does not yet offer the depth of more established titles. It is a game that encourages players to take their time, experiment, and engage with its world at their own pace. In the end, Rise Of Transport is a promising but currently limited simulation that offers a different perspective on transport management. Its open-world approach and accessible mechanics make it easy to engage with, but its lack of depth and unfinished state prevent it from reaching its full potential. It stands as an interesting concept that could develop into something more substantial, but for now, it remains a modest and somewhat incomplete experience. Rating: 6/10

I'm writing this early on, but I love this game already. Even with its little bugs and other thingies you'd experience in a typical early access game. As someone who spends hours playing with my avatar I absolutely appreciate this developer focusing on a great character creation experience with many more options than most indie games. I've been on the hunt for a game that provides this exact gameplay; Death Stranding + Stormworks ( Lite ) And I mean this in the best possible ways. If you wanted a game to just exist, doing a job, without a bunch of fluff or narrative rubbish, look no further. The developer seems focused on all of the right things so forgive any anomalies and have faith they are furiously working on the 'front line' issues/initiatives for the game.
I really enjoyed the game once I learned how to navigate it. It gives me hours of entertainment — it's a lot of fun.
This game is a lot of fun, especially if you play it with friends! There's lots to explore and you won't get bored easily.
I had issues with getting a black screen after the title screen and hearing the ocean but no keys would do anything. I told the developers in the discussion area. I then deleted the game as I had tried many times. I uninstalled and then reinstalled. I got the same black screen. I tried to tell the developers but now get a message that their settings don't allow me to post in there now. That left me no option but to seek a refund via Steam which I just filed. With others having many issues also of various types, I can't recommend this game or anything by the developers now.
