A sci-fi colony sim driven by an intelligent AI storyteller. Generates stories by simulating psychology, ecology, gunplay, melee combat, climate, biomes, diplomacy, interpersonal relationships, art, medicine, trade, and more.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Add-ons
Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.
Sums Steam only; GOG, Epic publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

Reviews
The game certainly has solid foundations and intriguing depth, but I will focus strictly on its fundamental flaws—plenty of people are already singing its praises. • Misleading Core Premise: The game is advertised as a colony simulator and story generator, but by default, it functions strictly as a brutal Tower Defense game disguised under sim mechanics. • Punished for Progress: You cannot freely build a grand, beautiful base. Wealth-scaling raid mechanics actively punish prosperity, turning city-building into guaranteed annihilation unless you rely on killboxes. • Forced Poverty Optimization: The optimal way to play forces you to keep colonists in artificial squalor and micromanage misery, rather than building a thriving, high-standard society. • Flawed Quest Scaling: Quest difficulty relies on the same broken wealth formulas, offering absurd suicide missions to small settlements and penalizing you for taking good rewards. • Exploiting Dumb AI Over Real Tactics: Instead of encouraging realistic defense and strategic thinking, the game forces players to build cheesy killboxes to abuse the enemies' flawed pathfinding AI.

Of the 6 markets with a position on both sides, 6 climbed and 0 fell. The same sale, the same day, opposite directions — which is why nothing here is averaged into a single arrow, and why one sale is not a trend.

One market had a chart position on both sides of this cut. One sale in one country is an anecdote — read it next to the store-wide figures below.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 51.43/day in the week to Aug 6 → 60.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The graphics aren't great, but the depth of the game's possibilities is truly monstrous, and if use mod you can improve it to the maximum so that you'll stay with it for a long, long time.

游戏很好玩,但架构导致即使是打了优化模组后游戏后期也非常卡顿,很影响体验

I believe one of my sons has over 1000 hours in this game and some would say, 'what a waste'. I couldn't disagree more. I was skeptical of this game to say the least and have been gaming since 1988, so seeing the graphics on this one I thought for the longest time, "you've got to be kidding me"... but I thought finally give it a shot based on all the reviews- and wow- this is just one of the best I have played in my time as a gamer. Went through the tutorial and thought, ok, simplistic, then played the game and realized there is no possible way any tutorial could encompass all this game has. And the story telling is simply the clincher- tragedy, loss, triumph, humor and it's all you and the story doing all the telling. It is, I dare say, brilliant. As a metaphor, to me, this game was Susan Boyles walking out on stage for the first time to sing, "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables. I was the crowd, full of laughter and derision, but hey, I'm here, so let's see what happens. And then she sang. Not quite that emotional a moment for me with the game, but every bit a, 'I couldn't have been more wrong if I tried' one. We want that attachment as gamers. A reason to care. All this game does is give you more reasons to care and tune in for the next episode by you.
- Starts Rimworld - Stares at the loading screen for 10 minutes because I have a metric ton of mods - Searches for an ideal base spot for an hour - Plans the perfect base years ahead and considers everything while the game is paused - Colonist goes mental at the start of winter, eats all the rations and the colony starves - Closes Rimworld - Starts Rimworld...
