Micromanagering isn't that nice. Saboteurs appearing nowhere, unable to stop them destroying your towns, costs running all the time. Game could be good, even excellent, but now itäs not worth buying.
A somewhat decent timewaster/cozy civilization builder with pirate themed click and attack style combat. Grab it if its cheap/on-sale , otherwise its kinda meh . Heres the downsides Click and travel/attack , no actual player manually controlled sailing or combat Shanties , Short Jumpscare remixes of ya fav assassins creed songs when you click on a ship , I kinda get full length songs wouldnt mesh well with the way the sailing works , but it still sucks not to hear the full song . I like to harmonize with the bobs and vegene inclusive shanties by meowing like a cat pre-fight with another cat. In campaign mode the owner/dev of the game you paid money for prefers that you grind his missions to utilize that commodity thats on your island , no early building on that iron or clay deposit without kissing the popes ring or tazing the hippies. Your probably just here to build a fleet of Man'o'wars to swashbuckle your neighbours stuff into being your stuff right ? Well you cant make all the things you need , some parts like improved cannons can only be rng looted from enemy ships , as well as the size of your fleet is controlled by a max/cap of your captains, I havent built any yet but i believe they are end game/built after its fun to have them. Otherwise its decent tho for a cheap price and will probably give you as many hours gameplay as it did me
I would rather recommend this game. But would also likely never play it anymore :D It is really much more about kind of Anno type of game than of Pirates. And it is pretty demanding (for maybe not so experienced player). So it is very possible at certain moment you'll find yourself in need to solve the problem that costs you lots of money and meanwhile likely would loose the game. BUT it is still about pirates, reminding me of Tropico 2 Pirate Cove. And it's somewhat fun in this aspect, although it is kind of more simple in this aspect of game :) So I'd hope to get a different game of this kind in future. I'm just really not a fun of Anno kind type of games.
