About
It was all going so well.
One day the world’s experiencing a golden age of technology, the next it’s forcibly merged with an alternate dimension. It happens.
Now there’s a new reality, a world between worlds: The Bast.
Remnants of the Rift is a roguelite tactics game where you can pause, plan, and play. You are Morgan, dimension-diving merc, delving deeper and deeper into The Bast at the request of the factions looking to exploit this new reality.
But you’re going to need help to survive in the depths. Help, and a whole lot of skill.
Remnants of the Rift combines the tactics of grid-based strategy with the thrills of an action game. Each level plays out in real-time, but you can pause the game to assess the battlefield, prep your attacks and plan your next move. Use mods and equipment to enhance your preferred style of play and overcome your interdimensional foes.

Every dive is different: change your strategies on the fly to counter a dimension in flux. Study each of the procedurally-generated battles and adapt to by customizing your playstyle to defeat all enemies and reap the bountiful rewards. But don’t worry, death isn’t the end. So head home, re-equip, and dive back in.

You’re not alone on your journey into The Bast. As a mercenary, you’ll deal with close associates and vying factions: everyone wants a piece of this new reality. But going deeper means getting better, and you’ll have to create unlikely alliances to procure the equipment you need to explore further.

If you're like me and love a good roguelite or strategy game, then you need to check out Remnants of the Rift. This game has everything you could want in a game - awesome combat, cool visuals, and a unique story. In Remnants of the Rift, you play as Morgan, a mercenary who dives into the Bast, a new reality that's been merged with our own. The game's combat system is really cool - it's a mix of real-time action and time-freezing strategy. This means that you can pause the action at any time and plan out your moves before jumping back into the fray. It's a great mix of fast-paced combat and strategic planning. And let me tell you, the visuals in this game are stunning. The retro-futuristic art style is so cool, and it's set to an amazing soundtrack that really immerses you in the game's world. But what really sets Remnants of the Rift apart is its story. The game's story is engaging and really keeps you hooked until the end. Overall, if you're a fan of roguelites and strategy games, then you need to give Remnants of the Rift a try. It's a seriously cool game with awesome combat, great visuals, and a unique story. So what are you waiting for? Dive into the Bast and see what all the fuss is about!
Give it a shot! looks promising
Once you get past the learning curve of the movement controls, you quickly get into the pace and flow of the game. The game has a fun and unique style, and I look forward to seeing how the development progresses. On the flip side - the game is still very much in Early Access and in need of polish - so the price feels quite steep for its current state - but I can see the potential and will still recommend the game.
Promising game, cool art style. Nice skill tree and progression. Interesting worldbuilding. Negatives: Controls takes some time getting used to, both in menus and in game. Did not liked the noisy part of the post processing shader - would have been nice to remove that effect completely.
It's a tough recommend for the price, but it definitely has potential so I want to give it a recommendation. Keep your eyes on the progression of this
Maybe some other people enjoy this, but it's just not something I can get behind Normally, I enjoy these kinds of games, but this one just... doesn't hit the mark. It feels like if you took a single character from a traditional TRPG and put them into a roguelike. Of course, you can't adjust their moveset heavily, so you just slap on modifiers that change very little I have similar complaints with Windblown. This game takes too long to change up your toolkit in any meaningful way, and players new to the game are likely to spend most of their refund window getting familiar with the controls, barely making progress, getting a pittance of credits each run to upgrade health, looking at that new ability with wonder, only to realize they now must drop one of their existing abilities to use a highly specific and limited ability that needs specific circumstances. I'm not doubting its power; moving an enemy is powerful. I'm doubting its usefulness when my damage capabilities are already spread thin as is. Of course, this is a much better game than Windblown. For one, it's cheaper, a whole $10 cheaper for a completed game. It also doesn't have mechanics that conflict with each other and make the game a constantly frustrating mess that steps on its own toes every time it tries to innovate. Idk man, buy it if you'd like. I'm just gonna take my $15 and put it into the next DRG cosmetic pack. I have no real opinions either way. I enjoyed what I played, but when I stopped and tried to play again...
Really enjoyed this so far! Nice real time with pause gameplay, and you can pet the dog!
It's a cool game, buy the game!
The controls do be wack, but you kind of get used to it after a while. What really got to me was the fact that there are no sounds in the game except for 2 tracks of music that loops repeatedly. Obviously, it's in early access so this is bound to change, but the game really suffers from the lack of audio feedback from attacks and such. I like the aesthetic, especially the backgrounds, even with the graphics being rough around the edges (again, early access). This game definitely has potential and the mixed genres is a really cool concept. For this price though, I would wait for a few more updates before buying and then try it out!
