Lucky me gets to write the first review for another asset flip scam from Neki4 Electronics. Red Hero Adventure is another GameMaker Studio asset flip from copy+paste repeat offenders, Neki4 Electronics. All these guys do is rip off game templates and projects from the Yoyogames/GameMaker Studio marketplace and other places, change the name and a few cosmetic details, and try to scam people into paying for someone else's work on Steam. They have run asset flip scams dozens of times, and this is no exception (just look at their other games on Steam). It's nothing but a cash grab. This time they've ripped off a basic template for a 2D retro platformer with a rolling ball. You can see the same template in use as Roller Ball X on the app stores or as an APK, which suffices as proof this is nothing but a cash grab scam/ripoff. GameMaker Studio itself is a terrible game construction kit, and this asset flip shows just how bad things can get when templates/tutorials/demos from that construction kit get dumped on Steam as complete games. Asset flips and other "Fake games" (as Valve calls them) are harmful to the industry, because they pollute the marketplace and reduce the visibility and exposure needed by genuine indie developers. In line with dishonest asset flippers, the game was dumped immediately at launch into DailyIndieGame shovelware bundles, and has a cash grab scam price of $10 USD for someone else's game. Even if this wasn't just an asset flip, it would be garbage. Impossible to recommend.
One of the laziest tower defence g...hold on, this isn't a tower defense game, oh ahh, that's the other game that the developer must have spent like 2 seconds programming.
Red Hero Adventure strips platforming down to its most essential elements, placing you in control of a small red ball and challenging you to navigate increasingly treacherous environments with nothing but momentum, timing, and careful precision. There is no narrative backdrop, no characters to interact with, and no elaborate world-building — the game presents itself with a refreshing directness, putting all of its weight on pure mechanical challenge. This minimalist framework is intentional, allowing the player to focus fully on the physicality of movement. The red ball becomes an extension of your reflexes, and the world around it functions as a series of obstacles designed to test your spatial awareness and control. The early stages act as an onboarding ramp, introducing basic mechanics and letting you get a feel for the distinct bounce, inertia, and stopping distance of the ball. These introductory levels are short and forgiving, emphasizing clean layout design that teaches you to read edges, slopes, and distances. Once you understand the physics, however, the game wastes little time escalating the challenge. Platforms become narrower, traps are arranged with tighter spacing, and jumps require far more accuracy. Many levels begin to resemble miniature precision puzzles, demanding that you not only react quickly but also anticipate how the ball will behave two or three moves ahead. This learning curve is steep at times, but the satisfaction of conquering a difficult sequence remains the game’s strongest reward. Visually, Red Hero Adventure maintains an intentionally simple style. Its environments are composed of solid colors, clean lines, and uncluttered shapes that keep the focus on the platforming rather than on aesthetic flair. The clarity of the visual design ensures that you can always distinguish safe surfaces from hazards, and the simplicity helps maintain concentration as levels grow more demanding. The responsiveness of the controls complements this visual clarity; when the ball behaves consistently, the game’s challenges feel fair, and success comes from genuine mastery rather than luck. This stripped-back cohesion between visual cues and mechanics gives the game a focused identity. But this purity of design also highlights the game’s limitations. Because the mechanics never evolve beyond jumping, bouncing, and navigating obstacles, the gameplay loop eventually becomes repetitive. The levels may vary in layout, but the lack of new abilities or transformative mechanics means that the sense of progression depends entirely on increasing difficulty rather than on introducing fresh ideas. For some players, this repetition aligns perfectly with the appeal — the game becomes a meditative exercise in refining technique. For others, the absence of variety may cause the experience to feel shallow or overly punishing, especially during the more unforgiving later levels. The overall structure of Red Hero Adventure reflects its indie scope. It is a compact title with a narrow focus, designed for players who enjoy mechanical refinement rather than breadth or storytelling. Its difficulty curve and minimal content make it clear that the game is meant for an audience that values challenge above all else. While it may lack the polish or depth of more elaborate platformers, it offers an honest and straightforward test of reflexes. This makes it a niche title — one that can be surprisingly engaging for players who appreciate tight, physics-driven gameplay, but which may leave others craving more variety, atmosphere, or reward systems. In the end, Red Hero Adventure succeeds by committing completely to its core idea: a simple platforming challenge centered on precision and momentum. It offers a focused experience with clean mechanics, a steady learning curve, and a rewarding sense of improvement for those willing to put in the time. It’s not expansive, cinematic, or story-driven — but it doesn’t aspire to be. Instead, it delivers a distilled platforming experience where each success is earned through patience and skill, making it a modest but satisfying choice for fans of minimalist, skill-based obstacle courses. I didn`t find yet how to save the game, because when you fail in one phase you go from the start again!
