I found the premise of seeing your childhood friend growing up in a visual novel quite interesting especially since it offers a lot of room to be a bit more creative about the outcome as pretty much everything can become possible. To be honest, I can't recall any other visual novel that revolves around growing up together with the love interest and it's quite adorable to see the love slowly but surely blooming. That being said, I ended up having rather mixed feelings about Real Life Plus Ver. Kaname Komatsuzaki as I feel like it has a great premise, yet, not everything was sadly well executed in this game. When it comes to the story, there isn't a lot to be said about Real Life Plus Ver. Kaname Komatsuzaki. The player can see the protagonist, Kouichi, growing up together with his childhood friend, Kaname Komatsuzaki, and can occasionally interact with her although some scenarios can be quite unexpecting as the player explores their relationship. During the story, different time periods of Kouichi get introduced. The game begins with him being a child until he becomes an adult. You see, since this game is rather on the short side, I found each time period didn't last enough and it was already over before I could properly get into it. This sadly also greatly hurt the character development as other than dialogue nothing happens in the game and it was tough to understand why the characters ended up liking each other at times. I think the main problem here is that there isn't a real plot available and thus, I didn't feel emotionally connected to the cast as there wasn't a story I went through with them together. Regardless, I still liked that I got more insight into the different sections of Kouichi's life. The slice-of-life scenes are very light-hearted and at times the main cast was mostly only talking about random things, however, I still found it entertaining in a certain way as it was adorable to see two kids growing up and along with that, their relationship as well. It felt natural that, as childhood friends, they were just enjoying their time together and not noticing right away when romantic feelings start to develop at some point. Additionally, I liked how different Kaname was with each timeline. At first, she was an adorable girl who slowly grew up to a fine lady. Something I really liked about this visual novel is that it offers so many choices and different kinds of outcomes. For instance, the choices you pick have such a big impact on the story that the happenings can be quite different later on and when I went through all the different endings there was always something new to experience instead of the usual skipping through the text until the end. With each playthrough, I had a better picture of Kaname, and all the different possibilities kind of remind me of the Princess Maker series except that this game isn't about stat raising at all, but I could never guess what my childhood friend will end up being as an adult. Something important to mention is that the sounds are really uneven in Real Life Plus Ver. Kaname Komatsuzaki and I had to turn down the sound and music volume all the way down since it was too loud to be able to hear the voice acting. Luckily, that wasn't a huge issue as it was easily solve-able in the menu although it confused me in the beginning and it was a hassle having to stop the game. As a piece of side information, I found most of the voice acting very well executed overall since each time period had a different vibe, however, I sadly found that a few lines sounded quite unclear and didn't seem very high quality. Graphic-wise, Real Life Plus Ver. Kaname Komatsuzaki is quite adorable. There are different sprites available for Kaname as she grows up, however, there is always only one pose available although the sprites contain different facial expressions which greatly helped with the immersion. There are a CG gallery and scenario section available in the menu but sadly only a few CGs are available with a lot of small variations. I found it was rather tough to find all the CGs as there are so many choices available that have an impact later on as well although I still liked that the player can view each scene again if they happen to unlock it. While I had my issues here and there with Real Life Plus Ver. Kaname Komatsuzaki I still had fun going through the short development of the cast although it's a shame that the game is so short so the romance scenes couldn't properly get delivered. Regardless, I found the premise really interesting and it's something I would like to see in the future in other visual novels as well since it's rare that a game focuses on only one heroine and shows the whole story from childhood to adulthood. That being said, Real Life Plus Ver. Kaname Komatsuzaki sadly has its flaws, however, this visual novel could still be quite entertaining to slice-of-life fans. Kaname Komatsuzaki… Before I go into the review, there is one thing you need to know, if you’re looking for a deep or intricate story, you won’t find it here. However, if you are looking for a simple yet heartwarming slice-of-life romance, you’re in the right place. “[i]Your choice defines you[/i].” Well, in this case, it defines Kaname, the heroine. Usually, each choice you make only affects a small part of the dialog or the story’s ending. However, in Real Life Plus, that’s not the case. Not only do your choices affect how it will end, but also what kind of person Kaname will grow up to be – Props to the developer for their bloody brilliant idea. The game has four phases, elementary, junior high school, high school, and adulthood. During the first two phases, you won’t see any apparent changes aside from how she speaks; on the other half, the effect is clear as day, as there are different character designs she might grow into, plus unique scenarios between the two. So, make sure to save a lot. Depending on your response, Kaname might end up with one of the three possible personalities the VN has in store for her. My favorite is the [i]fujoshi[/i] (female [i]otaku[/i] that mostly enjoys boys-love things) route, as it’s a bit funny to see how she ends up as the [i]otaku[/i] in the end. In contrast, you, the former [i]otaku[/i], end up as the dependable one – That’s what makes this route charming. I love the interaction between the two in this route. On a side note, it’s best to think twice before picking an answer to every Kaname’s whimsical question, as this VN has plenty of pitfalls that instantly lead to a bad ending. Real Life Plus as a VN is pretty unique. It focuses solely on one heroine, which is a bold move, considering most VN usually involves a lot of heroines. However, while I find the idea interesting, the execution is downright sloppy and leaves a bit to be desired. Due to how fast the progression pace is, you’ll notice how the romance aspect is slightly out of place. For instance, during the early elementary school period, there was a scene where you talked about anime, and somehow it progressed into a talk of confession and proposing. Now, I know the developer wants to portray Kaname as one of those kids who’s a bit more mature for her age, but there are better ways to do it. Being subtle about it is the key, not straight-up dropping a bomb mid-conversation. Overall, Real Life Plus was a pretty heartwarming read. The only speed bump I found was the romance aspect, which could have been more fleshed out so that it looked natural. Everything else was a-okay. If you enjoy slice-of-life stories, this would be a fine addition to your library. well for the two hours it took to get every ending im gonna say i quite liked this short vn and if you do play it i recommend the 18+ patch

I advice to stay away from this release. Music is too loud, louder than the voice, patched version has some random Ren'Py errors. the story itself has no text aside from dialogue and very few thoughts. No descriptions, no inner monologue, no introductions. Just dialogs partly consisting of popular media names. The art is nice, but I just don't think it's worth even 10$ at the current state. Requested a refund.

This game is interesting... The overall quality is not that good but it has really interesting concept. The concept is you grow up with a girl and based on your choice from when ur just a kid affects what will happen in the future. I do think it's a little bit pricey for this quality and playtime, so I suggest wait for a discount. 7/10 [spoiler] it has uncensored adult patch ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) [/spoiler]

About 4 hours of content, one character through different time periods. A simple straight forward game with some nice scenes.
