RATSHAKER™

Game is decent. It relies heavily on gore to create a horror atmosphere, that to be honest didn't really work for me. As In my childhood, I was already traumatized by a game called "Hitman: Contracts", so now I'm pretty used to that kind of Imageries. A part from this the Maze section is my favorite part, especially the flesh doors. However, I think it would have been even better if there was a persuer enemy chasing you through that area, as it would have made the whole section much more intense. TL;DR: Decent game TBH, i would say the cost to value ratio is actually pretty good, especially considering it's dirt cheap sale price.

The concept is so surreal that only a most clever mind could compose. I adored this short title so much that I collected all the achievements in one sitting. ⚜ 🙡 ⚜ 🙣 ⚜ [h3] PROS [/h3] [list] [*]Extremely entertaining rat played by a charismatic voice-over artist who clearly had too much fun recording the extensive dialogue. [*]The atmosphere effectively carries the emotion the developers desired. There were moments when I was reminded of the environments of horror gams of old, such as Silent Hill. [*]Well-executed environmental storytelling. One can very easily and quickly reach the end of the title within 10-20 minutes, but why would you? Much of the enjoyment came from exploring every room (even if there wasn’t a point) and examining the various scenes laid out for the players to study and deduce their meaning. [/list] [h3] CONS [/h3] [list] [*]The ambiance in the “meat maze” failed to reach the desired effect. Instead of sending chills down the spine, it only caused annoyance. I believe the reason for this is that there were too many sounds playing at once. Perhaps the developers wanted the area to feel chaotic and purposely give the player vertigo, but instead it was just plain annoying. [*]In order to shake the rat, one must violently shake their mouse. If you are like me and have a small space to move the mouse, this can be uncomfortable and inconvenient. I hoped the options included a toggle that, instead of shaking the mouse, would let me simply hold the left mouse key. However, there doesn’t seem to be such an option. I then tried using a controller to see if that was more comfortable… it wasn’t. Either way, I highly recommend that anyone wanting to experience the game set the shake sensitivity to max. [/list] ⚜ 🙡 ⚜ 🙣 ⚜ [h3] CONCLUSION [h3] This game is quite an enjoyable experience, albeit a short one. For the price of a pop nowadays, you can’t go wrong with a fun little laugh from this gem.

Note: I completed the game on another account and will be playing this one again for academic purposes. I watched a let's play of this game and could not believe how funny it was within the first minute. Lo and behold, my friends and I were crying actual tears cracking up before we went into the house where things get... complicated. We were pleasantly surprised to be playing a genuinely upsetting (complimentary) and compelling game that feels like it's ACTUALLY doing what a lot of other horror games try to do when taking inspo from P.T./Silent Hill 2. All while shaking and choking a rat in a hilariously animated/voice-acted fasion.

Мне понравилось. Брала по скидке. Хороррочек под вечерочек, игра для самых быстрых рук на западе. Стиль симпатишный, атмосферы нагоняет(я про поиск третьего генератора, пик напряжения). Неплохо.
