"Ranger Quest: The Adventure Begins" is Ranger Quest: The Adventure Begins is [b]not a game[/b]. It's an advertisement disguised as a full game, and you're expected to go pay for [b]"Ranger Quest: The Elemental Orbs"[/b] after seeing this advert for it. This is misleading, a shady way to market a for-profit product, and misleading gamers for profit is wrong. The product this is advertising,[i]Ranger Quest: The Adventure Begins[/i] is free as well, now, which is bizarre that we need to have a "free" advert for a "free" game.... anyway it's a laughably awful game concept. A pixelcrap maze game that almost looks like a real RPG (but it isn't) where you negotiate some mazes. Your reward for finishing a maze? An opportunity to do more crap mazes. Well, at least this wasn't an asset flip. But just because something is genuinely made doesn't mean it's good... and the developer deliberately abused the "free" section of Steam to advertise a paid product., but this isn't that product, it's just an ad for it. If you really like adverts, you can get them for free on Youtube, in your browser... heck even online streaming video subscriptions have ads now. Why download and install another advertisement? Valve provides a specific way to handle demos, free trials and advertisments. It is clearly outlined in the [url=https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos]Steamworks Documentation[/url]... something I would say is mandatory reading before anyone thinks about abusing Steam Direct. This "developer" either didn't responsibly try to understand Steam, or worse, deliberately and wilfully chose to ignore the correct process just to pollute Steam with for-profit advertising. Either way, this is unprofessional and bad for gamers, and here we are, looking at an advert. The purpose of this advertisement was to get you to shell out a whopping $5 USD on buying Ranger Quest: The Elemental Orbs, and I wouldn't recommend you pay for that either, or download it now that it's free. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. As an advertisement, this is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. It's important to understand there's a formal process to create a demo/page for a game which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an innocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers. Even as a free game, this couldn't find an audience. With a peak of [b]only 4 players[/b], it's clear the Steam community took one look and walked away. They literally couldn't pay people to spend time playing this. Advertisements and incorrectly published demos don't add +1 to your game collector count, they aren't full games. It's impossible for me to recommend this incorrectly published advertising spam to gamers, you deserve better than adverts.

This game is a-maze-ing! The real puzzle comes with figuring out how to 100% and finish the game, but it is never too difficult, the game remains short, and does not overstay its welcome. Fun little maze game.
