About
Randomice is Metroid-like… randomized. Usually, important items are always in the same place, and you collect powers in a predetermined order. But here, everything is randomly redistributed throughout the world. As a result, you never know what you're going to find or in what order you're going to explore the rooms of the house.
Since the items are randomly placed, each game creates a different adventure. You have to constantly adapt, improvise, and make the most of what you find. This is what gives the game such high replay value.
This idea is also integrated into the game's lore. Every time you think you've found the exit, you wake up in a laboratory cage. But you're not alone! Kimo, another mouse locked up with you, has managed to find a remote control that allows you to change certain parameters of the experiment in order to find a way out.
However, changing these settings is not without risk. Every day, Kimo will try something new. First, he'll mix up all the rooms in the house, then the next day he'll move where each mouse is, and it can even change what objects they ask for! Each variation of these settings creates a different configuration of the house, for an increasingly challenging game.
But there's no need to worry, Randomice offers a campaign that serves as an introduction to the concept of randomizers. If at some point you don’t know where to go, you can always ask Vyna for a hint.
Make yourself at home! Find the push pins to scale the wooden cabinets, the magnetic grapple to cling to the metal pot, or the rocket to fly across the garage at breakneck speed! Each new piece of equipment will help you access new corners of the house, bringing you a little closer to freedom.
- 10 hours of playtime to complete the campaign
- 14 different upgrades, placed randomly each time
- 14 rooms to explore
- 20 characters with unique quests
- 12 base challenges + 12 monthly challenges planned throughout 2026
- 50 Steam achievements
- A Soundtrack played mostly with real instruments

An adorable little item randomiser with a heck of a lot of charm. If you're new to the concept of randomisers and have wanted to try them, this game serves as a great introduction. The story has you go through levels of increasing randomised complexity - it starts off simple but quickly starts getting tricky! Thankfully there's a very generous hint system if you ever get stuck. There's no combat, but I actually like this design choice as it lets the focus shine on the randomisation itself. Once you've done a few runs you'll realise there's multiple solutions to many of the locations, some of which really surprised me and led to a few "aha" moments. The main items themselves are just plain fun to use, by the end of a run you'll be rocketing across a room at high speed, or jumping out of a grapple to conserve your momentum and zooming whereever you need to go! Some of the other items are less interesting however, there's quite a lot of "fetch-quest" items that you simply bring to an NPC for a check... sometimes 3 or 4 times in a row, and it can get a bit tiring. I had a run where my only option was to turn in about 6 of these kinds of items to NPCs all over the map before the last one finally gave me the next major item, and it felt a bit unnecessary. The music and sound design is truly wonderful, including a lot of acapella vocals in the music, and much of the sound design being done via mouth noises. It gives the game a very silly tone, but in a good way! I never tired of it and found myself humming along with the catchy music, and smiling at the sound effects all throughout the playthrough. Once you're done with the (simple but surprisingly interesting) main story there's plenty of challenges to tackle, so I suspect I'll be playing the game for a while yet! If you're even remotely interested in randomisers, you should definitely give Randomice a shot.
It's a great game i had a blast while paying it, if you like puzzles it's a mandatory try. I haven't tried the challenges yet but I'm planning on taking my time before trying as the house gets repetitive after a while, though I'm playing them eventually
A chill combination of a scavenger hunt and a Metroidvania. No pressure to speak of, but that makes it a great choice to unwind.
Love the design language here, a metroidvania centered around puzzle solving and somehow avoiding combat as the central verb action! Very cute, recommended. Can't wait to play more.
Randomice

✅ Recommandé — MajiNote : B

📌 Contexte
