About
Join over 3 million players who have already purchased Ranch Simulator on Steam!
It was once your grandfather’s pride-and-joy, but your family ranch has fallen on hard times and it’s up to you to turn things around. Sitting in a remote forested valley, the dilapidated homestead will test all your abilities as you attempt to turn it into the most prosperous ranch in the region – either alone or in up to four player co-op multiplayer.
The years have not been kind to your family ranch and it will take time and money to restore it to its former glory. Buy tools from the local hardware store and purchase a range of vehicles from the garage to help with your rebuilding projects. Renovate the main house, decide what livestock you want to farm and construct the barns, pens and runs you’ll need to keep them safe and secure.
Grand building projects are one thing. Paying for them? That’ll come down to your ranching skills. Overseeing a profitable operation is all about the day-to-day. Once you’ve selected and taken on your livestock, regular feeding and watering will keep them healthy. Successful breeding and careful rearing of the young will help boost the numbers in your herds and flocks — and the more produce you have to sell, the more income you’ll receive for all that hard work.
Expand your ranch enterprise by farming crops, producing sausages and cheese and even training and selling horses.
There’s a large open-world environment outside your cosy homestead and it’s teeming with wildlife. So when you feel like slowing the pace, why not grab your trusty rifle and head out into the forest to stalk deer and hunt bears? But remember, the wilderness lives by its own laws and you aren’t the only skilled hunter in the neighbourhood. Sometimes your steady hand and sharp eyes will also be needed back on the ranch to stop hungry wolves turning your off-grid dream into a nightmare.

The game is updated very rarely and it is very poorly optimized.

DO NOT PAY FULL PRICE FOR THIS GAME. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. I'm so glad I bought it on sale for ~$3 at the request of my bonus kid wanting to play together. I did read several reviews before buying it on sale and figured it couldn't be that bad. I wanted to do something fun with my bonus kid so I bit the bullet and bought it. It was ok at first, but now I've come to hate this game. I hate writing reviews (so I never do) but I can't let my hate for this game go without writing one and warning other people to stay away. This game still feels like it's in early access. I've only played for 7 hours but everything is so tedious. Running back and forth to fill troughs and water. Picking up one egg at a time to load into the ovoscope instead of being able to load all 4 spots at once and every single time you do this your camera moves a little so you can't fast pace it, you have to wait for the camera to adjust. If you want to build a fence around your coop and let your chickens "free range" during the day then eggs are laid wherever instead of only in the coop. You can't hire workers to help you with mundane tasks either. Bonus kid's ADHD kicked in hard yesterday when he was playing without me so he forgot to check on food/water for animals and a lot of them died. Cow heads poke through walls of the barns and I'm assuming other farm animals will do this as well. Wildlife glides along the grass occasionally with no leg movements so they look goofy AF. Building fences is ok until you hit a certain point. They snap together decently most of the time but then it's not seamless when you want to build around a barn, for example, and connect to it. You have full pieces of fence instead of it adjusting to the length you need so they end up looking janky and not even. (This could also be my fault since I was trying to hurry up and place the fence since my bonus kid started quickly adding planks to the pieces before I was even finished.) Driving is terrible and you go from 0-100 it feels like with one simple press of the gas. You also burn through fuel very quickly. My bonus kid parked a harvester next to a building with plenty of distance between them and then it glitched on top of the roof later. Gator/SXS was floating in the air on my screen at one point. Thank GOD your vehicles don't take any damage with the way my bonus kid drives around by jumping off of cliffs and ramping off of mountains/hills. And heaven forbid a deer or other wildlife animal gets in your way while driving because it acts like a brick wall which means you can't mow them down for free meat to sell. My bonus kid likes to change his outfits a lot and I noticed today that his skin was poking through one of the sleeves. The only positive thing I can think of at the moment is that you start with an axe so you can easily cut down all of your trees to turn into planks. Cutting down trees, removing stumps and cleaning bark/limbs off of trees to turn them into logs is super quick and easy.
