This game genuinely fills me with such an immense dopamine rush every time i chain a dash into 3 other shoes, straight into a dog, dash once more and get right into a zebra for an amazing combo. This game is now my life support, i will tell EVERYONE about this game. I'll tell my mom, my sisters and brothers, all my friends, i need them to experience the game that truly opened my eyes. Do not let the trailer deceive you, this is not just a game about a unicorn dashing through beautifully drawn enemies and having their friends help them along the way. This is an action packed, fight or flight response activating game. The pure feeling of joy and tension i feel when dodging every enemy through the later rounds of the game is a feeling i will never get from another game ever again.
You need to understand what truly makes this game the greatest, first of all, the beautiful, captivating art style. It is simple, yet elegant in its creation. It's an art style that pulls you into the game, and makes sure you will never forget it. Secondly, the gameplay itself. You, the unicorn, must avoid enemies, or dash through them to eliminate them, this grants you the currency of the game, the hearts. These hearts can also be obtained through the addicting combo system, but i will elaborate later. Once you have hearts, you must find the purse around the map to deposit your hearts to build up your high score.
Initially, this game can start out slow. However, it is when you first take a loss, where you are introduced to the upgrades menu. This is where you can use your stored up hearts to buy upgrades, which is where the truly fascinating and thrilling gameplay is stored. You can purchase friends to aid you on your journey of collecting hearts and dashing through enemies, it also allows you to purchase upgrades to maintain uptime on your combo. This is where the addicting part of the game, it gives you an excuse to keep dashing forward, keeping yourself desperate to cling on to an amazing combo you may have going. The greatest cherry on top is the LEADERBOARDS. As of writing this review, i am around the top 30 in the leaderboard, and i wish to ascend to greater heights. This leaderboard lets you see the high score of anyone who's played this game. It gives you a sense of competition, to beat the highest score to claim your throne at the pinnacle of greatness within Rainbow Unicorn Dash.
As i have stated before, this game has become my life support, i cannot go a day without this game or else i will experience extreme withdrawals, as a matter of fact, i already have. I need this game desperately. The wish i have for this game is for it to grow further, more upgrades, potentially horse customization, or maybe even leaderboards. The most recent patch for this game gave it a daily run system, with it's own leaderboard. I strongly agree with this idea because it gives people an opportunity to experience the rush of being on a leaderboard. I will be looking forward to every update this game pushes out, and i will play every update.
The greatest outcome for this game was to be featured within the Steam Horse Fest. This is where i was introduced to the game. I can only wish for the greatest success for this game, i want people to become more aware of what true greatness is. I want people to know the greatness that is Rainbow Unicorn Dash. Rainbow Unicorn Dash is the only contender for Game Of The Century. It truly shows the childlike joy and whimsy of the art style, while still keeping you thrilled throughout every playthrough. I will look forward to playing this game for the rest of the years i will live. Once it has received enough updates, i can only wish for the fabled and renowned "Rainbow Unicorn Dash 2".
