Good game. Fun to play. Nice music. I don't normally play these types of games, so I am surprised that it's so fun to play. I like the title screen, with the garage and checking your email. It's just so Japanese and fun. I usually play with the first choice of craft. The second one is harder for me to use. Have a good one.
buckle up and boogie
A really interesting and unique SHMUP with tons of style. Ive never played any previous Radirgy but im really enjoying this one. it's had a lot going on at once, a lot of it fresh, some of it reworked mechanics from other games, (i get major twinbee vibes with one of the games major mechanics). it's really addicting, has a great style, the music is very good. the whole game is just a vibe tbh. the game has lots of unlockables too to keep you busy too. I would say this game isn't for someone looking for more of a spectacle. there's only one stage (a very long one) and no bosses or big set pieces really. it's more of a game focused on score than anything else. But, by no means does that change my opinion of it as it has some of the most fun synergistic mechanics i've every seen in a Shmup, If i had one gripe with this game, it's that while the important messages you collect are translated into english, you also collect "spam" messages too which are not translated. These don't change the gameplay or are even close to Necessary to play the game or understand the story, but i would have loved to see them translated all the same. But beyond that, the game is quite exhilarating in how it works, it's fun to rack up your score, and while the game seems to want you to juggle a lot of mechanics at the same time, the reality is each of the mechanics play into each other and the synergy of it all is really well done, and that results in a very addictive SHMUP experience.
Tried to get into this series for years and always bounced off it. Decided now was the time to give it a proper chance. What I have found in an incredibly unique shmup experience that I can only describe as Kingdom Grandprix meets high-rank Redneg Allstars scoring play. The game is a caravan style with 3 potential enemy pattern routes and 2 player ships. A run lasts about 8-10 minutes outside of the endless mode. At first I felt overwhelmed by the list of orders on the left and was having trouble gaining points or making it much distance at all. Unfortunately the game doesn't really indicate it's intended play style more overtly, but after some acclimation thru the shmups wiki, it clicked and I have been having a blast. You want to go as fast as possible and spam bombs constantly.as they refill almost immediately if you are clearing popcorn enemies quickly. I keep multi and ABS on the triggers and basically just hold them down all the time. Cycle power ups with sword slashes and then drop to regular shot to collect pink, gold, and green power ups (in that order of importance). When you keep this up you stay invincible and basically just want to position your ship to do as much pb damage as possible While this makes for an easy clear, the fun of the game imo is the meditative experience of managing your ABSNET and WeeFee bars to ensure you stay invincible and going as fast as possible. The closer you get to the moon, the harder it is to recover your speed and get back into this flow state, but it is never impossible. I haven't failed to clear the game since my first clear, despite what items I use, however it hasn't gotten boring for me. The run length makes this a great pick up n play / mobile game and it runs great on Steam Deck. It also runs well under ARM combatility layers such as GameNative, so you can even play it on a phone!
An excellent Caravan Shooter, that tests your ability to survive indefinitely. I'm not 100% sure how the scoring system works, but I'll keep beating my head against it.
I played this game in 2023 in japanese on the switch and was surprised to randomly find this in english! And yea, it's still good! The gameplay really revolves around being able to combo one specifically ability, and while that does sound kinda boring and easily repetitive, it's actually pretty fun to get that combo going and keeping it alive! Also the little tidbits of info you get if you afk on the menu from Tadayo really helps build the world and Tadayo herself as some nice flavor text. Speaking of, the graphics are timeless in my opinion, I just love how this game looks! And the music is some of my favorite in gaming! If you're looking for a game to play just to vibe or the like, this is a good game to do that with!
Full breakdown 📺 https://youtu.be/FUqfohNaG8w What seems simple at first quickly opens into a fast, high-pressure loop where every choice matters. You’re constantly weighing risk and reward while everything speeds up around you. It’s hectic, rewarding, and surprisingly deep for something so easy to jump into. Definitely one that kept pulling me back in.
