Queen's Quest 4: Sacred Truce

A below average HoG with below average puzzles - despite being published by Artifex Mundi.

Quite a well done casual game with an interesting storyline. You could tell with this one that real thought had been put in to giving real reasons for looking for items rather than just because someone likes to hide their diary key in a combination vault or something (although, there was plenty of that too).

Spiel ist verbugt. Gegenstände werden nach dem Lösen eines Rätsels fehlerhaft ins Inventar aufgenommen, sodass die Story nicht fort gesetzt werden kann. Hab es zwei Mal versucht, musste das Spiel Mitten drin unterbrechen, da der Heiltrank zwar fertig gestellt war, aber im Inventar verschwunden ist. Musste den Spielstand löschen und neu starten. Nun an einer späteren Stelle das gleiche Probleme. Tuch mit Lösung ist nicht anwählbar, wird aber für weiteren Storyverlauf benötigt. Fange das Spiel nicht auf gut Glück ein drittes Mal an.

Queen's Quest 4 has a good trailer, with the protagonist ranger riding into save the day from the back of a leaping elk. The actual quality of the writing is bad. I beat this game and had an okay time. It is not hard or buggy. There's some pretty bits and interesting locations. The underlying story is dull and unfocused. For newcomers to the generally interesting Artifex Mundi catalog, please check out the Grim Legends trilogy.

Unfortunately, not the best (but also not the worst). + The artstyle is good, +- the voiceacting is decent, - but the story is lackluster and the most important thing: - the games are way too easy. Most games are so simple, it's hardly a puzzle and more clicking stuff. No thinking or searching needed... - On top of that, the click boxes don't always check off, because I had multiple times where I definitely clicked the item multiple times but it didn't take. All together, it makes for a longer gameplay (usually nice) that is more tedious than challenging/interesting, which is a shame considering obviously a lot of work went into making this game.

Great game

Cheesy story and mostly very ridiculous character animations. The puzzles were lacking as well: too easy, repetitive, the rune/spell system was a disappointment... Hidden object games are guilty pleasure for me, so I don't expect much from them, but this one felt just... meh.
