Puzzles For Clef

I'm in love with this game's art style <3

MASSIVE caveat: I'm reviewing it having given up halfway through because this is a great game for someone who is not me and I'm just frustrated with it at this point. Here's the thing: if you're into puzzles that are puzzles for their own sake--like a sudoku book--then this is great. And it is great in gameplay--the music gets grating after several loops but fortunately changes with each scene. The art is beautiful. But I'm going to strangle the sister character and, behind her, the devs here at about the halfway point because the puzzles are the entire point. Yes, there's a story--lightly--but this is more about puzzles on top of puzzles. So if that's your jam, awesome! Go for it! This is great for that! If you want puzzles *in service to a narrative arc* and notable achievements, like me, then maybe not this one. When the maze changed on me for the third time, I walked away from this to do some other stuff; given that I haven't returned to it in months, it doesn't seem like finishing it is all that important to me, so I'm releasing Clef and her sister to figure it out themselves.

Puzzles for Clef — це ідеальна гра для тих, хто любить атмосферні пригоди. Локації виглядають дуже детально і створюють відчуття, що ти дійсно перебуваєш у цьому світі. Головоломки органічно вписуються в навколишнє середовище і постійно змушують замислитись. У грі все спокійно і в міру складно, без жодного тиску. Ти просто насолоджуєшся кожним моментом, потопаючи в магії світу і розгадуючи загадки. Музика і звуковий дизайн додають атмосферності і допомагають розслабитись. Гра дає відчуття справжнього комфорту, і ти не поспішаєш завершити її. Це більше ніж просто головоломка, це ціла пригода, яку хочеться пройти повністю.

Realmente he intentado querer a este juego, pero no es posible. Primero que Clef se mueve demasiado lento para las zonas enormes que tenemos que explorar, NO HAY NI UN MAPA y encima hay puzzles que tienes que volver para atrás a buscar alguna pista o resolver algún acertijo que antes no podías. El juego no está completo, como pones a la venta algo que no está acabado. (SPOILERS) Es como que el juego acaba con la fiesta de cumpleaños, pero no se sabe nada de la hermana, ni del dragón robótico ni del genio artesano que ni me acuerdo del nombre. Hay muchas cosas que no te llevan a nada como las flores o los cristales que hay por todo el mapa. El arte es excepcional, pero por todo lo que he mencionado antes, realmente me ha sacado de quicio.

This game is unplayable. The puzzles were designed with no sense of natural progression and the art style is so poorly done that everything blends together at best or is nauseating at worst. This is an indie game, and it's clearly an early attempt, but that doesn't automatically earn praise and tricking audiences into thinking the game truly deserves such high reviews. I wish the developers the best in growing for their later projects, but this game is not worth spending money on.
