You awake gradually. You are in a dark cell. You are drifting in and out of consciousness between bouts of violent hallucinations. You are physically weak and have no memory of who you are or why you are here. You are alone and you are scared, very scared. The voices in your head tell you that you should be.

Considering that this game has been made by a group of student, it's pretty good ! Making a VR game in 10 weeks without any prior experience isn't easy. Some things may be a little odd here and there, but overall the experience is enjoyable, with scary moments here and there :)
1/10 would not load, willing to change review if this gets fixed

Really bad, even for a free game. I played for about an hour (my played hours listed is wrong, the game was left on). Your hands look like plastic claws, that can't interact with much in the world. The controls are very unnatural, having to press in the analog stick, then move it in a direction to move. The 'bad guy's AI is retarded, sometimes he'll kill you on sight in the dark, other times he won't, with seemingly no reason. Parts of the game intentionally blur for extended periods of time, making it annoying to look at. Just skip it.

Not bad for a free game. Pretty scary. It has it's fair share of glitches. Oh boy. Lots of glitches. The control system felt clunky and awkward. I could only put things into my inventory in the tutorial. In game, no such luck. I kept losing the darn key because it wouldn't go into my inventory, so I'd just have to carry it in my hand the whole time and then I'd bump it against something unknowingly and drop it by accident and have to go look for it in the dark, while trying to hide and being hunted. (Sigh) It's like amnesia towards the end. Turn your light off and hide. Played and beat in about half an hour. All in all, I'd still recommend it if your broke and just want a survival horror to play. Again, it's free. So I can't complain too much.

Overall, purgation is a pretty decent but short VR horror game. Similar gameplay to parts of the Amnesia game where you have to hide from your enemy while running around collecting objects in order to attempt to escape. The game was made in just 10 weeks, so I understand it having some bugs at first. Good game developers come back to their older games and release small patches to fix issues every now and then. Perhaps they will update the game in the future. Few issues here and there, but I was able to complete the game using the oculus rift with touch controllers. - The enemy would sometimes get stuck and just run into a wall constantly, as if it had lost its pathfinding AI for some reason. - If I turned my head too far into the wall I would be sent down a level. The ground floor became the ceiling. After many attempts using controls and turnings and not being able to get out (including resetting view), I decided to jump, and that actually fixed that issue, and I was back above the floor. - Slight difficulty opening drawers or picking up items. Seems you need to have your VR hand inside the item to grab it when using the Oculus Rift. - Holding in the right thumbstick in order to move (On Oculus Rift touch controllers) is annoying.
