typical games what we played 10 years ago. but this game is even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
great game, amazing combat, amazing world building and characters
I did the mistake of playing Wuthering Waves before I started playing this. Having sunk +100 hours into WuWa by now made me used to the fine craftmanship that Kuro Games have reached. Its clear to see they cut their teeth on Punishing: Grey Raven, but it doesnt hold a candle to the experience of WuWa. At least not for me. It really feels like a mobile game thats been ported to PC. A cool mobile game with badass combat but a mobile game never the less. It suffers from a unresponsive and simplistic UI which was the norm for older gacha ARPGs a few years ago. Since players spend a good amount of time in the menus in gachas the UI better be juicy as hell. From the three hours that I played its seems like a very smart production that helped Kuro Games skill up to become the company they are today. PGR features great looking 3D anime characters that are being deployed to various missions. Missions that basically are small 'kill rooms' that gives an illusion of a larger world in the background and where you have to fight various enemies. The combat is really neat looking but the controller and mouse + keyboard controls did feel as good as it should. It really felt like a mobile game. The animated cut scennes though!! Top notch! If they ever make an anime of PGR I'd be keen to watch it as the story seems pretty cool. As for playing more of it I dont know. I'd like to check out more of the character models but I think I just want to play more WuWa instead! :D
the controls in this game is a mess and the keybinds is all over the place, is a skip button really need a keybind??
Best fighting gacha game ever spectakuru
This game is a hidden gem, but not without it's problems. I started playing this game because of the upcoming Kurumi Tokisaki - Date A Live collab. Cons 1. There is one huge problem I believe this game should rework. I it's the very start of the game. Commandant level 1-40, When you are introduced to the game, is probably one of the worst onboarding experiences I've had. I understand it's mostly due to when it was created. The characters used there are severely outdated/boring compared to the endgame/newer. Endgame game-modes are unlocked much later, like 10-20 hours into the game which is typical for gacha games, but I almost thought of giving up the game due to how barebones it felt jumping into the same instances with 2-3 monsters using basic characters. This could prob dissuade off a ton of new players 2. The controls on PC are pretty strange like having L for the ultimate when most things are around WASD. In order for me to fun controls, I had to watch a youtube video of someone 's button bindings and UI organization. Those two really made me re-consider whether it was worth continuing. If not for Kurumi Tokisaki, then I might've just gave it up before I got to the fun part. Pros 1. There's a lot of available endgame content and filler content. But once you've played the game for about 40-60 hours, it levels out, but there's still more filler you can do. 2. The main story is actually pretty interesting, despair, dark and bleak, which I find enjoyable to read. It's also extremely long so there's a lot of content available for those who like going through the entire thing, but I skipped a lot and recapped later. 3. Combat is a tier difficulty higher than most gacha/mobile games and has some nice complexity. It's not impossible to learn, and rotations are eventually optimized. However, the controls/skills have enough depth per character so that if you just press random buttons, nothing much will happen. So you can't just come in as a new player and press random buttons to blast through all the content. Action combat is something I enjoy. 4. Gacha is relatively fair. Supposedly you get enough free rewards to get a character each patch since it's enough to reach pity. Can upgrade characters using other resources as well without having to pull. 5. Skills/animations/character design, skins are very high quality. 6. Also nice soundtrack especially for the vibe they're going for. 7. Additionally, I did visit the PGR booth at Anime Expo, and the team was pretty chill. Even though it's Kuro, it still felt like an indie studio and is still working to deliver for the niche/current playerbase
