About
It's a spoon. And yet, it's also a fork. Or is it either? It's a video game-type thing developed by Skye June (a.k.a. "Thunder Dragon"). A console-styled platformer with an action-adventure feel, complete with an expansive storyline featuring multifaceted characters across a widely varied world.
With an emphasis on variety through the constant introduction of new gimmicks and ways to play, Psycutlery is a game that prompts the question: "what's next?!"

Take control of Lillian the Alien and her mind-controlled spork (that YOU can name). Grab things. Throw things. Eat things. Jump in mid-air up to five times! Bring down an incomprehensible abomination of evil with a single piece of silverware (plus around 30 different power-ups!), and witness copious craziness unfold across Planet Geozaic!
For best results, playing with a controller is recommended (as this is a console-style platformer designed and tested with a controller in mind). Keyboard controls are supported, but not preferred. But hey. Options! Whatever you use, all controls are rebindable to custom user specifications.
Note that this game, though more or less family friendly, may contain some scary parts and dark storytelling moments that might not be suitable for small children.

Yep. All I want is to share my work and keep enjoying my game development hobby (without any of the stresses that come from the business side of things)!
This is the full, completed game. I would like to think of it having ample length and quality comparable to that of a commercial game. It's a completely original work, having been started between 2011 and 2012. All characters, art, music and so on are original to this project. Music was made with the help of me and a few friends (with most of the musical contributions coming from my friend Jon AKA DJ Yoshiman), while everything else has been solo developed by me. There are absolutely no microtransactions or anything of that sort. No catches to be found here - I just wish to share my passion with all who might appreciate it.

This is adorable
A game with a mechanic similar to Klonoa, where you can grab enemies and throw them to wipe out even more along the way, kind of like Pizza Tower. It's pretty addictive. The game also has a jumping mechanic that creates some really interesting difficulty with its level and boss design. Personally, I found the game reaaaally entertaining. I'm someone who usually leaves games unfinished, and I normally don't care about collectibles at all. But in this game, collectibles unlock the secret version of each level, and every stage has its own harder alternate version. I never had to use a guide to find any collectibles either, they were all very intuitive to locate. And if you miss one, it's no big deal! The game lets you teleport to checkpoints, and it even tells you which section the collectible is in. The game has 100 levels total, 50 normal ones and 50 secret ones, but don't think they're just more of the same. Every level introduces a new mechanic, LITERALLY! Even the secret levels have their own unique mechanics xD, which keeps you constantly paying attention. As for the story... the game starts off a bit weak. At first it feels like the story is just there in the background and that even the game itself doesn't take it seriously. But later on, everything starts making sense, and the story development becomes reaaally interesting. And man, the ending... I liked it a lot. Very emotional. For people who care about scores, I'd personally give the game a 9.3/10. Highly recommended. The sprites look great overall, although some character animations feel a little odd. But considering the game was basically made by one person, it's understandable. The game also has the same kind of humor as Undertale by the way xd My only issue with the game is the protagonist’s sprite. She doesn’t really look like the protagonist from the drawings. Personally, I think she looks more like a random grandma than the actual girl xD Some of the animations are also a little strange, like the running animation. But the game was made by one person, and you can’t be good at everything ;v. The sprites are generally really good overall though, so I kind of feel like the protagonist’s sprite might’ve been one of the first ones they made and they just left it like that, I don’t know. THE FOLLOWING IS A MESSAGE FOR THE DEVELOPER
I don't know if the developer will read this, but if you're planning to update the game someday, I'd improve the protagonist's sprite design, along with the running animation if you feel up to it, since she's the face of the game 100% of the time. Terra Zaic's sprite, for example, looks really good, and has a similar facial design to the protagonist, so I think you could improve her. As for the running animation, I think the waist should move up and down more with each step. If you do that, it should theoretically look much better. (I studied animation :v) You could also add a visible indicator showing whether you completed the alternate version of a level with only 1 HP. A little heart appears on the door when you do it, but it only shows up after completing the main level.
game's pretty dang good. the variety in the level design is where psycutlery shines the most. the game is constantly introducing new gimmicks, powerups, and obstacles, giving each level a distinct identity and keeping things fresh until the very end. while the moveset isn't the star as much as it is in some platformers, it's still a more than solid foundation for the rest of the game to build off of. five extra jumps might seem like a bit much, but psycutlery is designed around that amount of aerial movement, frequently asking you to weave between enemies or obstacles or stay airborne for long sections. those extra jumps give you more maneuverability and more time to figure out what to do when you're thrown over a pit or across from a bunch of hazards. overall, it's less about the consequences of a single jump the way many platformers are and more about navigating 2D space, where up and down is a slightly more limited axis of movement, which works well and sets it apart from many other games. the writing is kind of amateurish, but usually charmingly so. there's a lot more that made me laugh or smile than made me roll my eyes, and by the end the many disparate aspects of its plot were tied together in a coherent and satisfying way, and that's more than i typically ask from a platformer. bottom line is: i payed $60 for mario wonder. and this game is like 3 or 4 mario wonders. that's like $240 worth of video game. and it's free. so what are you waiting for
I was there back when Thunder Dragon brought the world Psycho Waluigi, an iconic Mario fangame so good that you'd swear it was some lost official GBA title decompiled for the PC. And down the line, I heard about the game when the demo dropped and watched its development like a hawk. And I beat the full game before it got ported to Steam, and it's a blast from start to finish. Not to mention this is free. FREE. 100 total levels, a gripping narrative with quirky humor, a whole post-game bonus mode, and it's free as a bird. You have no excuse to ignore it (unless you're not into platformers in which case whatever). If there's any criticism I have, it's to have an option to donate to Thunder Dragon because she deserves a cut of cheddar for something this tight. And I look forward to her upcoming game Telegeddon.
This game is simply wonderful. It's definitely worth paying for. I don't understand how such a marvel can be free!! It reminds me of the good old Amiga days. I'm having a blast. And the music is simply magical, a treat for the ears, with so many wonderful Amiga-style themes that I can't believe it. Would it be possible to share or purchase the soundtrack from the game? Bravo to the creator. Bravo!!!
This game is everything I remember Psycho Waluigi being and more. It's funny, the levels are well desinged and fun to explore, the platforming feels fresh and like it conforms to the moveset you have. It's just a well designed game and you're a cute frog girl.
JUEGO MUY BUENO Y GRATIS, MUCHO CONTENIDO
really creative with nice character and enemy design... can't believe it's free though :D
