About
Pronoun Palace is a word-spelling roguelike set in a dystopian future where the government has taken your pronouns. Use spells to manipulate letter tiles, catch fish, and abuse amphetamines to defeat the Party and get your pronouns back!
Strategize your spelling; use wooden tiles to attack and plastic tiles to defend. Activate spells to manipulate tiles to your favor—shift letters across the alphabet, turn tiles into candy, and watch words spell themselves with wildcards.
Retransition as different characters in the face of an oppressive bureaucratic collectivist state. Take advantage of their unique abilities to hole punch tiles and submit multiple words at once, weave through fish to catch specific letters, or juggle ticking bombs against a racing clock!
Battle a wide variety of enemies that each change the game. Manage tiles afflicted with effects such as poison, trigrams, and capital letters. Solve mystery letters through deduction, keep yaoi and yuri tiles from touching, or spell words long enough to make an enemy heel!

This game is so peak. I can confidently say this is one of the best word games of all time. If you're the type of person that is remotely interested by the notion of a queer, turnbased, strategy, roguelike scrabble game, then absolutely get this game. The gameplay is so well designed, the controls are intuitive, the enemies are mostly very interesting and unique, the art is fun, the character designs are cool, the humor in the dialogue and cutscenes and descriptions is great, the worldbuilding is fun, the music is awesome... I could go on... Anyways 10/10 strategy game, 10/10 word game. Pretty much: if you have the patience for a strategy game and you are not scared by the existence of trans people, then I'd highly recommend it :3
Kind of like scrabble but with more complexity and without having to play with people. Big fan of this game. Addictive. So so wish there was a version on mobile.
I absolutely love this game. I'm a transman, a big roguelike enjoyer, and one who has recently been getting back into board games on TTS... hungering for as much Scrabble as I could manage... Initially I was a little hesitant about the sadly hyper-relevant fascist transphobic post-late-stage-capitalist police state setting, as I was scared it would be perhaps too intensely real and therefore painful to relive over Scrabble, but after a few runs I really found the game charming. Its reflective of reality, yes, but with some absurdist exaggerations that create an interesting setting and a lot of interesting enemies that I enjoyed reading through the descriptions of, especially when I realized what Shadows were. I found myself shockingly endeared to the characters despite my brief time with them, and I am so happy to have something like this with characters that have experiences like me and my loved ones. Devs, I love you XOXO, this is a gift and I am deeply appreciative.
see this is like woke slop but good
I want to say this game is somehow offensive to the (my) community.... but its not. its friendly fire insult at its worst but at its best its this kind of gallows humor that can only come from queer folk well practiced at misdirection and sleight of hand under scrutiny. I want to say i hate it, because its uncomfortable, but i cant hate it. i love this game. and i want my pronouns back.

Pronoun Palace is: 1. Very Fun 2. Humorous 2. Well-Produced 3. Anti-Establishment Its narratives (five character arcs) are smart/mature and the gameplay keeps a person hooked. There are many difficulty levels and that is part of the addiction. If I had to name a better word game on Steam, I wouldn't be able to.
[they] took our pronouns? ah man. [i] just bought them from the grocery store. well [i] have a few words for the palace. like cat, cow, meow, woke, goon, complaint, jerk, foid, off, and many more. the only time being chronically online was a boon and not a bane.
