Very cool Metroidvania! It might look cute and charming, but it can get very violent and hard. And let me tell you, it gets even harder in the later levels, specially in the Paint without the T difficulty. The music is also very good. Each area has a theme song. Some collectibles are really hard to find, but there are some sound queues so pay attention! Hidden gem for sure, hope it gets more exposure
Es cumbre... Había jugado la beta antes pero ahora está muchísimo más pulido. Es tan cumbre que lo compré en steam y en switch.
このゲーム大好き!(≧ω≦)
If you love metroidvania and those great megaman zx classics, this game is right up your alley. The graphics are colorful and cute, very impressive to see this made from a one-man team, Dominus deserves much praise for this cute but violent sidescrolling experience!
An incredible work of art, labor, and love from a solo developer, Princess Pomu AT5M is a solid evolution of classic beat-em-ups and follows an endearing cast of characters on a journey spanning multiple planets on a quest to stop [EXPUNGED]! Along the way, Pomu gains abilities that enhance her lethality in whatever playstyle you use and it's refreshing to see the combat mechanics interwoven with the plot so well. If I say anymore I risk spoiling things so I'll stop here...! Overall, the combat system is intuitive and fluid on controller and Steam Deck. There were very few bugs the last time I played it and the developer has already fixed what few I did find (they are pushing bug fixes regularly). This developer truly cares about their craft and it shines through their initial debut. Everything from the menus to the combat to the character banter is so lovingly crafted it's hard not to get swept up into Pomu's world.
this game is the goat
Only played through to the first boss, but a positive impression so far. Game starts slow to get a feel for the world, and once the action kicks in its no cake walk. (Though I'm pretty sure easy mode's graphic showed Pomu eating a cake...) I started on normal difficulty (there's easy, normal, hard?, and insane...), and unless sparing enemies prevents me from getting some HP back (haven't tried finishing off enemies in case there are multiple endings and consequences...?) HP drops are far and few between. Been defeated a few times from stray bullets or misjudging a combo and I'm only at the first boss! (Remember to save!) Though as I become more accustomed to the controls I think I'll really pick up the pace. Combos and usage of the right moves at the right time are critical to avoid needing to heal at a save point very often. So get good, quick. The setting is pretty curious, love the character art. Backgrounds are fairly classically great and combat can be quite fun... when you're not fumbling controls xD (How many times have I run into a forcefield instead of dashing through it now... lol.) Anyway, watch the trailer, if it looks charming, maybe check out the demo? Or jump right in like I did. I truly love finding good indie games. Time will tell how worthy it is... And if it's only a linear story, or if actions matter. Do hope so...
EPICO
Game absolutely rocks, is oozing with style and having followed a huge chunk of the dev cycle I can tell you (but it should be obvious just looking at it) that it was developed with absolute love and care. I'll definitely be updating this review once I have a more complete opinion of the whole package but all I've seen and played so far has been top notch with minor nitpicks at worse.
Checks a lot of fundamentals for an action platformer with particular polish on the combat system. Cute game with animated sprites and bangin' music. Rock solid combat foundation with melee combos and ammo-based ranged weapons. Many of the power-ups double duty for combat and exploration. No silly, unwarranted touch damage. There's a
grappling hook
btw. Surprising amount of content for a developer's debut commercial release.
