Prime World: Defenders 2 – это гибрид классического Tower Defense и коллекционной карточной игры, действие которого разворачивается в ныне мёртвой вселенной Prime World.

I have over 110 hours clocked in the first Prime World: Defenders and unlocked 111 of its 134 achievements. Suffice it to say, I enjoyed it very much despite having some caveats with it. PW:D1 is the sole reason I don't play card battlers. The card system was a bit unfair in the first one, in here it's downright predatory. You'll have a hard time progressing after you pass level 20 mark. You need better cards that don't drop. The level designs also start to become unfair when you have weak towers (and by weak, I mean second tier, not the first one). And those levels have been downgraded significantly since the first game. They are very small and lacking in variety. Add artificial limitations to that: The towers aren't limited by the resources you have, but by the cards you have. You have to combine them if you want to use more than one in a level. TLDR: This is a "how far the mighty have fallen" situation. A pay to win game that is a significant downgrade from the first one.
Old mobile game with too many ways to fleece you
has microtransactions and plays like a mobile game
Good game kills time I enjoy personally good feelings and vibe hell yeah absolute enjoyment recommended for little fun but no depression
7/10 gameplay, 3/10 free-to-play model. Good base, but no substance I played the original Prime World: Defenders a while ago and despite it's flaws, it was a good Tower Defense game. I was looking for some TDs and I saw Defenders 2 was free, so I tried it out. I'll start by saying that the Steam version is an inferior version compared to the mobile versions as this game heavily promotes ads. Since ads in games are not allowed on Steam, you will be having a harder time progressing through the game. At the same time, the interface and the battle screens are quite different from the mobile version, so this is not a straight port. The Steam version also has less options in regards to support topics, so I would pretty much look at the Steam version somewhat as abandonware although this is an always-online game. Ok, so the game is pretty much a rehash of the first game, using most of the assets, but rebalancing everything to drag the game way longer. In the first part of the game, you will progress normally or quite fast, but once you get to blue and purple cards, the game slows down significantly. After player level 70, the game becomes quite hard and annoying as you will not receive more dump cards that you can feed into you main cards, instead you will only receive card shards and will mostly progress by using the offers from the castle shop. On the mobile version you can watch one ad per day for a specific tower shard and for stars (premium currency). On Steam, you cannot do that. So, this is my first issue: the balancing in the game is bad. Some tower and spell cards are just useless. You will need to dump a lot of XP into them to find this out by yourself, which wastes a lot of time and resources. There are foil versions of the cards, but some will require a great deal of time to obtain and you'll probably get the rared version faster. Also there are event only cards that are not part of the regular deals, but these cards are essential for leveling up. Damage spells are useless for the most part, as playing on hard, will make them obsolete. The battles in the castle are way, way too hard (and I believe this is a bug, based on possible rewards mentioned in an official post). Rewards for hard levels are bad and there's a real sense of stagnation. The other main issue is the difference between the premium license and the free-to-play user. With premium you will receive from +50% to +100% bonuses on almost everything and will have access to the 4x fast-forward feature that makes the game actually playable. Having to do a 20 extra levels at normal or 2x speed, takes about 40 minutes, with 2 screen you must manually click through after each battle, so this really wastes your time for very little benefit. Also, the game doesn't run in the background, so you are forced to have this as the active application for mostly idle gameplay. The maximum level cap is level 90, but once you get there, there no "wow" factor. Some end-game content will now be available as regular offers in the general store, but that's pretty much it. You can continue grinding for days to basically obtaining some slightly-better stat-sticks (usually 20% better). Also there are some issues and bugs in the game. These don't seem to happen constantly. Some bugs are being exploited as the main way to progress at end-game based on in-game chat. Also, premium is based on real-world time, meaning that if you receive a server downtime during your premium, you will not be refunded or offered back the remaining premium time. I played this game without spending a single cent, as I wanted to experience how bad the free-to-play model is. At the same time, even if I wanted to pay for something, the offers are just bad and don't help you much towards your current goals. Prices for Steam are also higher compared to the mobile version, so this, again, didn't make me want to spend money. TBH, I would not advice you to spend much time with this game. It is nice for a small amount of time, but there's no actual goal or incentive to go on. If you like the game, you should play it on mobile (or at least the Android PC beta thing). Just remember, that you cannot sync your mobile profile with the PC version as this feature is broken (and it used a Facebook account to do so).
