About
What began in 2019 as a small experimental VR project has evolved into a bigger beast, we are expanding the IP, With Primal Reign: The Age of New Kings entering early access, we have a free playable demo as well as an extended playthough as a thank you should you wish to supports us through early access. This is exactly why we wanted to re-visit Primal Reign and bring it inline with the new story and give the original tomb a make over with new art, new enemies and lots of new weapons.
Set deep inside an ancient Egyptian mummification tomb, the battle converges around a single Explorer.
You are Harriet; a British Archaeologist who has found herself separated from her partner Ron — alone, outnumbered, and surrounded.
For ten ferocious waves, prehistoric beasts and reanimated mummies pour in from every direction. There is no cover you can rely on. No safe angle. No mercy. Only instinct, movement, and firepower.
10 escalating waves of relentless enemies
Prehistoric creatures and ancient Egyptian mummies attacking from all sides
A tightly designed single-arena tomb, built for spatial awareness and constant threat
Limited health with unlimited ammunition — survival is about positioning, not hoarding
Enemies can (and will) approach from any direction — including behind you
This rebuild focuses on what VR does best:
Physical presence
Spatial pressure
Immediate feedback
Every weapon, enemy, and movement decision is designed to keep you engaged during intense combat, this is for VR veterans.
Multiple firearms suited to frantic close-quarters combat

PROS: Visuals are really good. It's a cool idea (A COD Zombies-esque survival shooter [set in Egypt, I think?] with dinosaurs). Might be nice to see a noticeable recoil effect, but the shooting mechanic works pretty well. CONS: Movement is a big problem in this game. Dinosaur movemet is clunky, slow, and boring (which, given the smaller level design, it kind of has to be...larger, wide open levels would be cool). Even the scripted cutscene has the dinosaur very slowly walking away while you idly sit by and watch your friend get dragged off to be eaten. It's difficult to move around (warp only) with a weapon in hand(s), as the "warp" pointer isn't the same direction as the guns "shooting" pointer. It'd be a big improvement to have the warp pointer match the direction of the gun, or better yet, have locomotion movement. OVERALL: At the moment, it's a bit of an awkward game. The visuals are far more polished than the gameplay elements themselves. Despite it's semi-unfinished state, it get's a thumbs up because it's free and has potential. This game is going to stay on my radar; if some of the things above were fixed, this could easily be a game I'd play, and even pay for.
Sometimes games are so bad I do not even want to write a negativ review about them. In this case I feel like Primal Reign has potential to become a better game and therefore I decided to write a review where I focus on what I think this game needs to be a good game. At the moment it is not a lot of fun. But yeah, it is for free, let's give it a thumbs up for the efforts and especially for the great setting and idea. It needs: * normal Onward locomotion needed - teleportation is very buggy and clunky in this games * dinos have to run normal speed and not only slow motion * weapon handling very bad, buggy to pick up the weapon Last but not least, the good: * great setting, dinos and nazis in Egypte - love it - what a shame the new Assasins Creed is not going down this road * graphics are okay Therefore I give it a recommended to try it out for free. But of course I would not recommended if the game would costs someting at this stage. Good luck continuing the work. You can dual wield stg44s, but after doing that for 10 minutes you'll most likely get bored and uninstall. There isn't much to the gameplay and all waves are basically the same but with more dinos, some bonus points for having a witty narrator, but really only giving this a thumbs up because it's free. If you've played your fair share of wave based fps then you can probably give this a skip.

This game is free. As such, the question becomes, "Is it worth your time?" The answer, in my opinion, is no. Clunky teleporting. Funky aiming. Poor performance. Gameplay consists of shooting the same dino copied hundreds of times, which come from odd angles. Really bad tracking of trying to grab weapons and ammo. Game-over screen left me nauseated thanks to it whipping the camera around uncontrollably as a T-Rex "eats you". There are much better experiences out there, even for free.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
This looks like an awesome game and it starts out exactly that way. You wonder why this game is free to play. After a few minutes of gameplay, the mystery is solved. It's like they ran out of money and couldn't cover the cost of the rent and/or electricity and they just had to release the game on steam in hopes of covering a 10g debt to the Russian mafia. I don't think that turned out well for the dev as there haven't been any updates and the dev is nowhere to be seen. Well, still, this game turned out so corny, so oddball, that it's actually fun for those first few minutes. Isn't that what free games are all about on Steam anyways? Hey the graphics are not too shabby. There's some cheesy narrated lines that just work because the actor knows the lines suck, but reads them anyway like the true pro that he is. He made it his own. You teleport around. You can knife the dinos or shoot them. Throw a grenade and see how many you can blow up with one good frag. This is a game you play for 15-30 minutes and then uninstall. But those 15-30 minutes will stay forever in your heart. I mean who doesn't love knifing dinos in the head and seeing blood splatter? Rate 6/10. Needs some Nazis to shoot / feed to the dinos. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1416028562
Very rough. Movement is clunky and the fighting animations are not very good. A bunch of dinosaur bodies piling up on each other and then one gets through and all you can see is it's tail as you get eaten. Not my cup of tea.
