Pride Run

Pride run is an unapologetically gay, bright, and fun rhythm game with bangin' music! I don't play a lot of rhythm based games, I can probably count just on one hand how many I've played, but I really liked this, and the mode with the RTS elements really makes it stand out from other games of the genre. As it says in the description, the game has two modes; Vanilla Mode and Play Hard Mode. Double entendre aside, Vanilla Mode is the standard rhythm-based part of the game. You lead a Pride parade through different levels based on real cities from around the world, smashing the arrow keys in time with the music. The bigger the combo you string together and the more accurate you are with pressing the keys or controller buttons, the more people will join the parade. Play Hard Mode is where the RTS mechanics come in. In this one you lead the parade with different subgroups of the LGBT+ community supporting you in the group. As you pass by different people in the crowd of onlookers, a symbol corresponding to one of the groups appears over their head and you have to have the corresponding group dance in front of them. When you do it enough, you'll gain more people in the crowd, making your parade stronger against the different homophobic counter protesters you'll encounter on your route. This mode is pretty interesting because, due to the parade constantly moving, you have to often times think fast with which crowd to focus on with which group. The different groups have different stats as well, some are more suited for defending against the homophobes (Which honestly would have been best suited for the "Ally" group, but I digress), while others are best used to pull more people into the parade. There are also boss battles in both modes, which... honestly could have been a lot better. They're easily the weakest part of the game, due to the commands not wanting to work half the time. Seriously, whether I used a controller or keyboard half the time it wouldn't register the arrow keys I was pressing and I would miss with my attack, when I really shouldn't have. I don't know if my game is just lagging while I'm playing, but if not an update fixing this would be very much appreciated. The soundtrack in this is pretty good too, very catchy and fits with the theme of the game. I've been to one Pride event and I could definitely hear this type of music playing at one. I might even pick it up as DLC to listen to in my spare time. Overall this is a very fun and pleasant game with a nice sense of humor, none of which feels mean-spirited, and some interesting gameplay for the Play Hard Mode. You should definitely check it out if it interests you or you like rhythm based games, you'll get some decent game time out of it, especially in the Play Hard Mode, unlocking the different other LGBT+ groups, and you'll be supporting a good cause while doing so with 10% of the revenue going to an LGBT+ organization. Pride Run is a game I think you'll like whether you're LGBT+ or not.

Pride Run é um jogo com temática LGBTQ+ e possui 2 modos de jogo, modo vanillas simples que foca no jogo de ritmo e luta contra os chefes e o modo "play hard" que insere elementos de rts na parada e é mais interessante, a musica e os graficos 16 bits fazem um bom trabalho juntamente com as piadas e o senso de humor fecham o pacote - recomendado PS: Me atenho aos elementos de gameplay na analise, apesar de que sim, sou Simpatizante a causa e ao movimento LGBTQ+ e sim, acredito que mais jogos como esse são necessarios sempre, no entanto que sejam bons ou ao menos razoaveis, como felizmente é o caso aqui. Between the rhythm and strategy elements, this game is pretty smartly designed, independent of it's theme. But come on now, the theme is amazing. Solidarity with Pride.

Fun! It makes you dance. In 'Vanilla' mode some things could be improved - e.g. sounds of arrows, clarity (it's hard to watch the parade while making moves :c). 'Play Hard' mode tutorial was too chaotic for me and unfortunately I gave up testing it. So I wouldn't pay the full price for the current version, but it was nice to play anyway during the free weekend. I recommend to check it out.

Only city people would understand

Always thought visual novels are the worst type of game to feature LGBT elements. But hey! There could always be innovations that blows your mind!

Pride Run, saw this game had a free weekend so I decided to try it. Overall there is a decent rhythm game here, couple that with the good art and the gameplay itself and you have an overall fairly queer experience. I would recommend the game to anyone interested in it, maybe not for the full twenty dollar price tag but I can say at least that the games not bad.

It's worth every Penny. Especially when on Sale. make Videogames more Gay, this is a goood start!
