Have known the developer for a while and it's super cool to see him bringing new life into this title. Played it on mobile for a while and am really enjoying the transition to playing on the keyboard. This is a fast-paced, challenging title where the asteroids (and other things) start to come at your real fast. Level up, retire, pass on global boosts to the next generation, and then watch yourself speed past what was once challenging to even greater challenges. No one's made it to level 50 yet, can you? Also, #TeamDiceDucksAndCarrots represent.
This has become my "I've got a few minutes to kill" game. Every though it's still early in the development it's quite fun to play and I don't think I've seen a single bug. As you progress and level up your ship you'll eventually hit a "wall" in terms of upgrades where the cost to upgrade seems insane compared to what you get after each mission. Once you've beaten level 10 you have the option to retire your current pilot and get a new one. Your ship and upgrades reset and you start again at level 1, however now you have a new currency called "prestige" which can be used to purchase perks like massively increasing the rewards for each mission as well as lowering the upgrade costs. Level 10 is a PITA the first time around. Make sure to buy into the dark matter perk that increases the payout for warp energy pickups. You REALLY want to get through level 10 as fast as possible, the longer you're in it the longer you're likely to encounter a space mine that will ruin your day. Old Review(s): Haven't had a lot of time to put into it yet but what I've played has been fun and it loads and runs super fast. I initially thought this might be a zen-game for me but the pace picks up quick and I found myself challenged to avoid the asteroids before i knew it. Edit: I've had time to spend a couple hours with it now and I've got to say it's a lot of fun. Once I realized there was a black market for upgrades built in my survival rate went way up and the new HUD made it a lot easier to figure out how to use the various equipment you can add to your ship. Still haven't made it beyond level 6 but it's been a blast.
