Came in expecting a buggy mess but honestly was pleasantly surprised there was no real bugs to speak off, maybe some simple grammatical mistakes that made it a bit hard to understand but I'm nitpicking here. The game is really fun, I got super far from my first play through reaching 6-1 on hard and I could already see how different my next run will be since there is ♥♥♥♥ ton of items to experiment with. [strike] my main problems with the game so far is the difficulty the game felt fairly easy even on the hardest difficulty, and the timer for enemies to level is really slow or at least their leveling didn't really feel like it was on par with how powerful I got this could be because I had a really good run so I'll definitely update my review if It wasn't the case. [/strike] never mind game is hard I just got a god run on my first try apparently :P and my other problem was the speed my character(warrior) felt like the slowest creature on earth even tho I went out of my way to pick every single speed upgrade I could find even sacrificed a couple of legendary items for the sake of speed yet I was so slow to the point where I would sometimes leave coins behind because it was too much work for me to go back to collect them also if I wanted an item and didn't have enough gold I'll just leave it behind since it would take ages for me to go back! lastly the enemy aggression felt really weak I could literally skip the whole level without fighting a single monsters it gets better on level 5-1 but before then I felt like the enemies were scared of me or something they won't lung or chase me much which combined with the slow movement of my character made the game feels really slow. Overall I would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys rougelites since there is a lot of upgrades to unlock and skill trees to level!
Man, this game is so underrated. I bought this as a random little thing, expecting that I wouldn't like it and would refund it after a bit. That's not at all what happened. This game is a masterpiece. From even before you start a run. Right when you open up the game for the first time, you are met with amazing music. You start the game and are met with a screen where you get to see everything there is to get in the game, you see many unique characters, all with unique weapons and abilities, all suited for many diverse play styles. You can also see all of the pets you can equip, what they can do, and how to unlock them and the locked characters. Once you choose a character to play as for your first run, you can choose what different upgrades to equip on their abilities and different skins to choose from, once you unlock them of course. Ok, you have now chosen a character and looked through the pets, the character's abilities, their skins, and possible upgrades, and are in the hub, it's beautiful, with many NPCs to talk to and buy from, and you get to see exactly what the difficulty that you are on does for your play through. You talk to the NPCs and find one that changes how a play through can work, with an upgrade tree, once you get the points to upgrade the upgrade tree, by just playing the game, your experience can differ a lot. You also find a shopkeeper that sells items that are unlockable with blue coins, a currency used inside and outside of runs. You also find an NPC that adds new altars to the game, which can heavily alter (see what I did there?) runs in positive and negative ways, lastly, you see an NPC that tracks achievments and gives you meta rewards for your future runs. Now that you have looked through the amazing hub, you go to the large portal in the center of the hub and begin a run. You see that there are many different choices in the portal, once you have completed a floor. You enter the first level and find some chests, nothing too special. You beat the floor and enter the next floor, you choose to play a type of more difficult level, an elite floor these can shake up runs, they have the ability to kill the player with decent ease, but if the player is feeling confident, they can choose to join one of these floors and complete the challenge associated with it. You get rewarded with a pretty good reward for the challenge you defeated. You keep going and beat the first boss. You keep playing for a while, but eventually die. That's fine, it's expected even. Now you can use what you got from your first run to get further and further, maybe you even got a new character to play with, or even a new pet! You buy some new things, and use your points to upgrade a few different paths in the upgrade tree and start a brand new run, the run is the same, but completely different, you play different levels, with different designs, and get different upgrades for a possibly new character with a possibly new pet, possibly new ability upgrades, and possibly even a new skin. Overall, this game needs more love, it's so good, and one of the only games I've actually had a really fun time trying to optimize and speedrun. I always see it getting new updates in my library and it gets better every time. Much love and respect to DuskDog for developing a great game such as this.
This is a fun game but ATM it has some really not fun mechanics. It would be cool if there was challenges like completing the level in a certain amount of time, or take under this amount of damage that give you rewards. Right now the elite levels suck. Kill a boss mob without using normal attacks or skills? This sucks. Survive for 2 minutes while not opening any chests? This is really tedious and often isn't worth it due to so much power scaling relying on chests. Also the very hard difficulty. I've beat the hard difficulty three times. The very hard difficulty is like 300% more difficult. The mobs are way too tanky due to starting off 10 levels higher. Feels like it really needs to be balanced. Other than that gameplay is pretty fun and scratches the risk of rain itch a bit.
great game, fun roguelite with simple yet fun abilities and items. dumb fun, cool platforming and an overall simple feel two glaring issues however 1. the grammar can be really hard to understand at times, and awfully inconsistent. 2. at least for me, the game feels a little too easy. even on hard mode, i beat the game on my third run. the first 5 areas can be painstakingly easy as well, difficulty spiking later on but not enough. 4 player might as well be 'story mode' or very easy, as it becomes awfully easy to near one shot some of the later bosses without even trying that hard. overall, i would recommend this game if youre looking for a fun laid back roguelite, however it does need some fixes with grammar, and higher difficulties would be amazing and make the game require more thinking and strategy.
A great start to what could be a fantastic little game. Plenty of characters and items to play around with leading you to try different builds and stacking perhaps odd items If youre a fan of roguelites and games like Magicite and ror2 I highly suggest giving this game a shot
mega fun even when playing solo only thing so far that I don't like is that when you upgrade a skill or item, the numbers that got upgraded don't change to the new amount in the item/skill description so I gotta add it up every time I want to check how much changed also a way to hover over skills or passives that are displayed at the bottom in case I forget what they do would be nice
Incredibly fun game, especially with friends. Some bugs in the mix but the graphics and design are very polished. 10/10 would play again.
So far loving this game. A bunch to unlock as far as skill enhancements, skills on actual characters, and looks like theres 18 characters! Excited to keep playing and unlocking more and more.
a fun roguelite. pick it up if its on sale. fun with friends, but it lacks any kind of matchmaking which it could really benefit from.
Very Underrated Game! This game has gone under the radar for so long but is such a good dungeon crawler game. I love both the multiplayer aspect of this game as you use these crazy skills and traits to defeat bosses along with your friends. There are also sooooo many items and weapons too chose upon and utilize. As well as I really like the Dev team that works on this team as they constantly release cool updates and they DO LISTEN TO THEIR COMMUNITY. Amazing.
