if you're old enough, polycube will remind you of blockout, a 3d tetris variant from 1989. if you're not old enough but like tetris, chances are you'll enjoy this one as well. the playing area is a 3d grid, or a well if you will (though welltris is a very different game, also from 1989). you have to plop down various shapes, and if an entire layer is filled, it all disappears because it's tetris. grid size can be between 4x4 and 8x8, with 3 sets of polycubes for added difficulty, and there's an interactive tutorial showing you the ropes. controls need a lot of getting used to because of all the dimensions. besides movement in 4 directions, there are 3 keys for rotation, and some more to rotate the grid itself, or just peek in one direction or another. the peek up button makes it pretty close to blockout, but it has to be held, which is not ideal. space drops the current piece immediately. keyboard controls are rebindable, controller also supported, as is vr, but I couldn't test those. separate volume settings, various languages, resolutions, windowed mode, graphics quality, leaderboards, and in-game representation of achievements are all available. the presentation is fine for a game like this, no fancy effects to distract, only the music gets more dramatic once pieces are close to the top. I'm pretty sure I was much better at blockout way back when, probably because it had a fixed view, though as a casual tetris player I don't spend much time on individual titles these days, just try a new one whenever I'm in the mood, and this is definitely worth trying, especially now that it's free.

_____________8__88_____8 ____________88_8__8_____8 ___________888_____88___88888 __________8888______88_8____88 _________8888_______88______8_8 _________8888_______88______8_8 _________8888_______8_______8 _________8888_____8_______8 __________88888____8______8 ___________8888888______8 __888_________88888_8 8888888________88_____ _8888888_______8_____ __888888_______88_____ ___88_____8_____8_____ ____8______8____8_____8_88 _______8888_8__88_8_88888 _____888888_8_88__8888888 ____8888888__88______88888 ____88888_____8_________888 ____88_________8__________8 _____8_________8_____ _______________8_____ ____________8_8_____ _____________88_8_____ ______________88_____ ______________8_____
Has the quality and potential to be the 'standard' of 3D tetris in VR. Stays true to its roots and tickles that itch that any avid tetris/puzzle player has. Controls are solid and efficient. Rarely encounter bugs, which is great for an Early Access game. It gets quite cerebral, so if you are up for a challenge, this may be right down your alley. My suggestion for the future would be to add workshop support so we can get a variety of environments - this game is a perfect carrier. [Played in VR Mode]
This game seems long overdue. I would have expected a game like this to be made as soon as 3D gaming was past it's awkward formative years. But at least it's here now. So this is Tetris in a 3D format where you clear slabs of cubes rather than lines of squares. I can't speak to the VR experience but for standard play the game is quite polished. The I wouldn't exactly call the controls intuitive but I adapted to them pretty quickly. You can rotate the tower that you are stacking blocks in and view it from the top down. As a Tetris addict I happily endorse this game.
Great 3d Tetris "clone" you get a 5x5 space where different shaped figures come falling down, your mission is to fill all the "floor" with a cube so it dissapear, you lose if you hit the top. Simple enough, and easy enough to understand, but way harder to master. Its free so very easy to recommend, as it had great performance and sound, graphics are on the simple side, but thats fine.

A once $7.99 game that went Free. The controls felt clunky but workable. Could use more backgrounds and music variety.
PolyCube is a free VR game that is a VR version of Tetris. It worked on my HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Has 3 levels of difficulty. Game add more blocks. You need to use a game pad to play this game. You can also view this game using your monitor. Try this game, you might like it.
